Two Days National Level Workshop on CS6712-Grid and Cloud Computing Laboratoryon 5 th & 6 th August 2016 Organized by Department of Computer Science and Engineering Technically supported by C-DAC, Chennai ABOUT THE WORKSHOP Main objective of this workshop is to provide wide knowledge to the faculty members, researchers and students on various tool kits of grid and cloud environment. Through this workshop they can gain exposure to effectively handle the laboratory exercises as per the syllabus of CS6712-Grid and Cloud Computing Laboratory. Grid computing is the segregation of resources from multiple sites so as to solve a problem that cannot be solved by using the processing of a single computer . It employs the use of multiple clusters that are loosely coupled, heterogeneous and are geographically dispersed. Cloud computing is a new technology of computer network, providing the web services at lower cost comparing to normal technique. It contributes to improve the services in other related technologies such as Grid computing. Many computer resources such as hardware and software are collected into the resource pool which can be assessed by the users via the internet through web browsers or light weight desktops or mobile devices . By attending this workshop the participants will gain a deeper understanding of subject matter and specific mechanisms, which leads expository benefits in the domain of Grid and Cloud Computing SUBMISSION OF REGISTRATION A maximum of 50 registrations are permissible on the basis of first come first served and selected candidates will be intimated through e-mail. The registration amount has to be paid in the form of Demand Draft in favor of “KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology”, payable at “Coimbatore”.
