TWELVE Fredonia State Is Speaker Dr. Porter Addresses Seventh Graduating Class at Falconer FALCONER—The seventh annual Commencement at Falconer Cen- tral School wets held Monday eve- ning in the High School auditorium, with Dr. Harry Porter, president at the State University of New York Teachers Colege at Fre- donia, delivering the principle ad- dresf, "The Uses at Your Past". The valedictory was given by Janet Sampson, and the salutatory, by Dara Anderson. Gregory Ben- son, supervising principal, present- ed the members of the Senior Class, and diplomas were awarded by Merlan Swanson. president of the Board of Education. Rev. Eu- gene E. Ankeny. pastor of the Kennedy Methodist Church, gave the invocation and benediction. Mu- sical selections were provided by the Central School orchestra, di- rected by Walton H. Is Speaker Dr. Porter Addresses Seventh Graduating Class at Falconer

FALCONER—The seventh annual Commencement at Falconer Cen­tral School wets held Monday eve­ning in the High School auditorium, with Dr. Harry Porter, president at the State University of New York Teachers Colege at Fre­donia, delivering the principle ad-dresf, "The Uses at Your Past".

The valedictory was given by Janet Sampson, and the salutatory, by Dara Anderson. Gregory Ben­son, supervising principal, present­ed the members of the Senior Class, and diplomas were awarded by Merlan Swanson. president of the Board of Education. Rev. Eu­gene E. Ankeny. pastor of the Kennedy Methodist Church, gave the invocation and benediction. Mu­sical selections were provided by the Central School orchestra, di­rected by Walton H. Huestis, and the Senior Girl's Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Gerald Heg-Jund.

SOUTH DAYTON — "You, The Law and The future" was dis­cussed by Charles «C. McOoskey, Jr., Chautauqua County sheriff, in his Commencement address at the seventh annual graduation exer­cises of Pine Valley Central School Monday evening in the High School auditorium.

Diplomas were awarded to the graduates by.Ljmn Ivett, vice president of the Board of Educa­tion, and the Commencement awards were presented by Carl W. Stamp, supervising principal.

Norman Parks gave the vale­dictory, and Robert Case, the sal­utatory. Musical numbers were provided by Patricia Babcock, Fern Carpenter, end the Pine Val­ley Central School Band, under the, direction of Vincent Mallare. Rev. Stanley WJsniewski, pastor of St. John Fisher Roman Catho­lic Church, gave the invocation and benediction. Diane Waters and Larry Danker were the Ju­nior Class Honor Guard at the Commencement -exercises.

Also participating in the program were Rev. Howard Parks, pastor of the East Leon Wetleyan Methodist Church, invocation and benedic­tion, and Rev. Edwin F. Armitage, pastor of the Cherry Creek Meth­odist Church. Music for the pro­gram was provided by Norman Parks, the Pine Valley Central School Double Sextette, directed by Mrs. Phyllis Wells, the Central School Chorus, directed by Nor­man Parks and Fern Carpenter, and organist.

Hear Educator Edinboro Professor Gives Address

PANAMA—Dr. Ldand VanLan-Ingham, Edinboro State Teachers College, Edinboro, Pa., was the Commencement speaker at the an­nual graduation exercises of Pana­ma Central School Monday eve­ning.

Merlyn Ireland, president of the Board of Education, presented di­plomas to the graduating class. The valedictory was given by Evelyn Button, and the salutatory, by Marilyn Johnson.

Rev. David Wing, pastor of the Niobe Baptist Church, gave the invocation, and Rev. John Linen-doll, pastor of the Panama Baptist Church, the benediction.

Musical numbers were provided by Mrs. Evelyn Button and Miss June Brown, pianists, Carol Elli­son and Clyde Johnson.

Robert K. Howe, supervising principal, presented the following awards: Panama P.T.A. awards to Evelyn Button and Clyde John­son, Seniors; Nancy Casler and Irene Wassink, Juniors; Robert Carlson and Martha Schruise, Sophomores; and Bonnelle Smith, Clarice Wiltsie, and Richards Ed­wards, Freshmen; W.C.T.U. poster contest awards, Fifth and Sixth Grades, Ann Brandquist, first, Ter­ry Weisbrod, second; Sixth and Seventh Grades, Barbara Nelson, first, Virginia Alexander, second; High School, Margaret Pitts and Edna Jacobs, first, and Jane Cas­ler, second.

Baccalaureate was held Sunday evening in the school auditorium, with Rev. John Linendoll, paster of the Panama Baptist Church, presenting the sermon.

The invocation and benediction were given by Rev. DeWTayne Cun­ningham, pastor of the BlockvUle Bethel Methodist Church; and Rev. Gerald Lundeen, pastor of the Bear Lake Evangelical United Brethren Church, read the scripture.

Musical selections were provided by Mrs. Evelyn Button and Miss June Brown, pianists, and the Mixed Chorus.

The annual Class Night program, presented Friday evening by the Seniors, included a skit portraying the highlights of their school days, the class will and prophecy, and a ceremony between the officers of the graduating class and the of­ficers of the Class of 1S56.

Senior Class officers include James Kent, president; Raymond Barrett vice president; Marilyn Johnson, secretary; and Evelyn Button, treasurer.

Motto of the Class of ^ is "For­ward Ever: Backward Never"; the class flower, the rose; and the class colors, blue and white.
