TVS Motor Company Ltd, the flagship company of TVS Groupis the third largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India. Thecompany manufactures a wide range of two-wheelers frommopeds to racing inspired motorcycles. The company is haingtheir manufacturing plants at !osur in Tamilnadu, Mysore in"arnata#a and Solan in !imachal $radesh. They are alsohaing one unit located at Indonesia. Their su%sidiaries includeSundaram &uto Components Ltd, TVS Motor Company
'(urope) *V, TVS Motor 'Singapore) $te Ltd, $T TVS MotorCompany, Indonesia, TVS (nergy Ltd and TVS !ousing Ltd.TVS Motor Company Ltd is a part of Sundaram Clayton groupin TVS group of companies. In the year +, Sundaram-Clayton Ltd started Moped iision at !osur to manufactureTVS /0 mopeds. In the year +12, the company entered into atechnical #now-how and assistance agreement with Su3u#iMotor Co Ltd of 4apan and in the year +1/, they incorporated
a new company La#shmi &uto Components $t Ltd for themanufacture of critical engines and transmission parts. In theyear +15, the company ac6uired the assets of the mopeddiision from Sundaram Clayton Ltd. &lso, the name of thecompany was changed from Indo Su3u#i Motorcycles Ltd toTVS Su3u#i Ltd. In the year +2, they launched two modes ofmotor cycles namely, Samurai and Shogun and in the year+7, they launched TVS Scooty. uring +-2000, TVS
Su3u#i Ltd was amalgamated with Sundaram &uto (ngineersLtd, an unlisted group company which was incorporated in theyear +2. &s per the scheme, all the assets and lia%ilities oferstwhile TVS Su3u#i Ltd together with all o%ligations andcontingent lia%ilities were ested in Sundaram &uto (ngineers'India) Ltd with effect from &pril 22, +. This merged entitywas later renamed TVS Su3u#i Ltd. The TVS group and Su3u#iMotor Corporation parted ways from their +/-year-old 8oint

Vengaram Sundaram Iyengar who gae up lucratie careers in
the Indian 9ailways and in %an#ing to set up his own %usiness. !e
%egan with Madurai;s first %us serice in +++ and founded
T.V.Sundaram Iyengar and Sons Limited, a company that consolidated
its presence in the transportation %usiness with a large fleet of truc#s
and %uses under the name of Southern 9oadways Limited. Fhen he
died in +// his sons too# the company ahead with seeral forays in theautomo%ile sector, including finance, insurance, manufacture of two-
wheelers, tyres and components. The group has managed to run 77
companies that account for a com%ined turnoer of nearly 7 %illion.

Sundaram Clayton, then the flagship company, was founded in +52 in
colla%oration with Clayton ewandre !oldings, Bnited "ingdom. It manufactured
