---Connect to “S-Video Out” of Video camcorder or DVD Player or VCR (if available) for Video capturing.

Video In (AV) ---Connect to “Video-Out” of Video camcorder or DVD player or VCR for Video capturing. Audio In ---Connect to “Audio-Out” of Video camcorder or DVD player or VCR for Sound recording. (Please note: You may need a RCA-Stereo adapter to convert

this signal.) Audio Output ---You may connect this to a speaker if you only want to listen to the sound of your TV programs. It is, however, recommended that

you connect this to the “Line-In” port of the sound card, so that you can also record the audio signal while you are capturing or recording.

3. Driver Installation The WDM driver for Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP is located on the folder Of “DRV” of the CD Disc. 1. When Windows tries to detect the TV tuner card, it will ask for the location of the device. Please always specify the location as “D:\DRV” (where the “D:” is your CD-ROM). This process will lead you to a successful driver installation. 2. Windows 2000 or Windows XP may detect the driver as no “digital signature” by Microsoft, please ignore it and continue the drive installation. 3. Total 4 devices will finally be installed into your PC. Please check your device manager after the driver installation. Under “Sound, Video, and game controller” category of the Device Manager: --BT878 WDM Video Capture --BT878 WDM Audio Capture --BT878 WDM Crossbar --BT878 WDM TV Tuner

Fig. 13 Fig. 14 The above steps are for Multimedia Video Controller (WDM Video Capture) and WDM Audio Capture devices. Following steps will install two other devices (two “Unknown” devices-- Bt878 WDM TV tuner and WDM Crossbar). Illustrations will not be repeated since they are similar to the steps shown in Fig. 1 to Fig. 7, and Fig. 8 to Fig. 14.

Driver Installation for Windows ME (Tip) Driver installation for Windows ME may start at your Device Manager

Double click on either “PCI Multimedia Device” or “PCI Multimedia Video Device”. Then click “Reinstall Driver” to beginning installation. After completion, there are two “Unknown Devices” that will appear on the “Other devices” Category, do the same as steps above. 4. Application (Dscaler) There is a “TV Tuner and Capture application” on the CD. The Dscaler program can be used to view TV Program and capture the Video from external Video equipments such as Camcorder, DVD player or VCR units. After installing the Dscaler program, its manual (Help file) can be located as per below illustration. Please click on “StartàPrograms” or “All ProgramsàDSCaleràDscaler Help”:

There are few main steps for using the Dscaler application: (1) Setup Card with Chip Bt878

When the Dscaler open first time, it ask you selecting the type/model of your Bt878 TV Tuner card. You can keep the default setup “Chronos Video Shuttle II”. For Tuner selection, please select the Tuner as LG TAPC H701P(NTSC) or Philips (NTSC). Click on the “Sources”, and then click on the second item “Chronos Video Shuttle II” (or other name if you selected other card’s name at first step).

After that, the “Bt Card” and “Channels” will appear:

To watch: TV Select Tuner Video from Camcorder/DVD player/VCR with S-Video connection Select S-Video Video from Camcorder/DVD player/VCR with Composite connection Select Composite (3) How to select Audio Input

To listen to audio while watching: TV Select Tuner Video from Camcorder/DVD player/VCR with S-Video connection Select External Video from Camcorder/DVD player/VCR with composite connection Select External (4) How to setup TV Channels

---- Make sure selected TUNER as VIDEO INPUT. Refer to “How to select Video Input”.

---- Make sure selected TUNER as AUDIO INPUT. Refer to “How to select Audio Input”.

----Click CHANNELS and select SETUP.

---Select USA CABLE FREQUENCY (if you are using cable connection) Select USA AIR FREQUENCY (if you are using Antenna)

---Click SCAN. ---When completed click OK to complete the setup.

Now you can select TV Channels by:

Press PAGE UP and PAGE DOWN on your keyboard or Click CHANNELS and select the channel

5. Application (alternative) You may use other TV Tuner and Capture card application on this Bt878 TV Tuner & Capture card. You may download such application from a third party website. (Please note that most of these applications works well with its own driver, so you may need to remove our driver and re-install both Driver and Application from the third party source.)
