● You should have completed at least 120 credits to
be a good standing junior
● Good standing juniors should have completed:
○ Two years of English
○ One year of Algebra
○ One year of Geometry
○ Two years of Science
○ One year of World History
○ Two years of World Language or VPA
○ Two years of PE
○ One year of an Elective
● If you ever repeated the same class or attended
summer school to remediate a D grade, you may
be short credits towards graduation

✓ Start visiting local colleges to get an idea of what you would
be interested in...large/small, private/public, UC/CSU
✓ Sign up for extracurricular activities: Clubs, athletics,
leadership, community service

✓ Counselor meetings to discuss courses, credits, college admission
✓ Start developing a resume of your accomplishments, activities, and
work experiences
✓ Start planning your college entrance testing calendar for spring:
consider signing up for ACT Boot Camp in January
✓ Register for ACT or SAT exams for spring

✓ Review PSAT results and begin test prep for SAT through
Khan Academy and CollegeBoard
✓ Participate in ACT Boot Camp
✓ Sign up to take AP Exams if you are taking an AP course
