    Coal Handling Plant (CHP)

CHP is a plant which handles the coal from itsreceipt to transporting it to Boiler and store inBunkers. It also processes the raw coal to make itsuitable for Boiler Opeartion.

In brief we can say that receipt of coal from coalmines, weighing of coal, crushing it to required sizeand transferring the quanta of coal to various coalmill bunkers.

    Definition

Wagon Tipplers:-These are the giant machines having gear boxes and motorassembly and are used to unload the coal wagons into coalhoppers in very less time (e.g. 20 wagons/hr. or more).Vibrating Feeders:-

These are electromagnetic vibrating feeders or sometimes inthe form of dragging chains which are provided below thecoal hoppers. This equipment is used for controlled removalof coal from coal hoppers.Conveyor Belts:-

These are the synthetic rubber belts which move on metallicrollers called idlers and are used for shifting of coal from oneplace to other places.

    16/34

Coal Crushers:-We receive the coal in the form of odd shaped lumps. Theselumps are to be crushed to required size. These lumps arecrushed by coal crushers.

Trippers:-These are the motorized or manually operated machines andare used for feeding the coal to different coal bunkers as pertheir requirement .Electromagnetic Separators:-

Electromagnets are used for removing of Iron and magneticimpurities from the coal.Dust Extraction System:-This system is provided in CHP for suppression of coal dust incoal handling plant.

    Boiler

Boiler is a device for generation of steam for powergeneration. In thermal power stations water tubeboilers are used. Boiler is suspended from the topon four columns and kept free from the bottom side

for free expansion on downward direction.

    E.S.P.THEORY:-

The full form of ESP is electro static preceptor .An ESP can be defineed as a device that utilized electrict forces to separate suspandedparticle from flue gasesESP is highly efficient device for extraction of suspended particle andfly ash fromThe industrial flue gases .

WORKING PRINCIPLE :-ESP can handle large volume of gases from which solid particles areto be removed .

    ADVANTAGES OF ESP :-

High ash collection efficiency. Low resistance path for gas flow.

TurbineThe steam turbine generator being rotatingequipment generally has a heavy, large diametershaft. The shaft therefore requires not only

supports but also has to be kept in position whilerunning.

    CONCLUSION

Summer training plays a vital & effective role in astudents life no matter whatever respective field he

is working upon & want to expertise his\her skills intheir field.

It is for the student to see & adjust on working culture& environment to a sufficient period of time & tocheck the students adaptability & flexibility.

It gives the practical idea & picture of what we all

have only theoretically gained.Last not the least it provide student a platform to to

shape their knowledge into practical work.
