Following a two month history of left flank pain, this 48-year-old female had an ultrasound revealing a large cyst.
Gross Pathology: The kidney measured 20.0 x 18.0 x 16.0 em and weighed 2450 grams. It contained a 11.0 x 9.0
x 6.0 em cyst. There were several additional thin-walled secondary cysts measuring up to 4.0 em and appeared to compress the renal pel vis. ·

Gross Pathologv: . The 1,120 gram segment of renal tumor measured 13.0 x 10.5 x 9.5 em. It contained a 11.0 x
8.0 x 7.0 em soft tan tumor mass which was predominantly solid but had cystic areas filled witn hemorrhagic fluid.

Clinical Abstract: Following a two month history of right flank pain and a 15 to 20 pound weight loss, this 20-
year-old male underwent a CT scan which showed an irregular right kidney with a hypovascular mass.
Gross Pathology: The kidney contained an ill-defined, yellowish-tan, focally hemorrhagic tumor located in the
lower pole of the kidney and measured 8.0 x 6.0 x 6.0 em.

Due to discomfort in the right upper quadrant, along with bloating and blood in the urine, this 75-year-old female was found to have an upper abdominal mass on imaging.
Gross Pathology: The 1016 gram segment of kidney was 21.5 x 14.0 x 7.0 em and contained a 14.0 x 12.8 x 7.0
qm irregular, firm, lobulated tumor mass that extended to 0.5 em of one medial and lateral renal border.

A mass developed on the right kidney of this 77-year-old male. A right radical nephrectomy was performed. (28853)
Gross Pathology:
80% of the kidney specimen was replaced by alight brown circumscribed tumor 170 x 120 x I I 0 mm. (29723)
The red-tan kidney surrounded by Gerota's fascia and adipose tissue weighed 355 grams and measured 16.0 x 9.0 x 4.5 em. (28853)
