PRINCIPAL‟S NEWS
It is with great sadness that we learned of the
passing of Mrs Munro. The thoughts and prayers of
our staff and students are with her family at this sad
time. Mrs Munro has been an inspiration to many
students through her kindness and dedication to her
vocation. Mrs Munro was always open on time and
always had the lunches to the students and staff at
school. She never let a student suffer from being
hungry and always spoke highly of our students and
of Tullamore. Tullamore Central School students
will form a guard of honour for Mrs Munro as she
leaves the church on Monday morning. Students are
asked to be in full school uniform and to bring a hat
and water bottle with them. Students attending the
funeral with their parents are asked to be in school
uniform and are invited to join the honour guard.
Our school family is asked to bring a plate,
(sandwiches, cakes, slices, no hot food please) for
the wake to be held at the Tullamore Bowling Club.
Plates can be left at the club from 8:00am or at the
school. The funeral will commence at 10:00am. The
students will be walked from the school at 10:30am
to form the honour guard and return to school after
the procession has left. If you would prefer that
your child does not participate in the guard of
honour please contact Mrs Carter or Mrs Horsburgh
at school.
Our Trade Training Centre is being „dropped‟ into
place as our newsletter is being printed! The
furniture arrives on Thursday and as long as the
weather holds it should be ready for use day one of
2012! We will have a tour during our first P&C
meeting in 2012 which is on Monday 6th February.
Our House performance competition last Friday
was outstanding. The students worked hard at their
routines and they came together well for the
performance. The standard was very high this year
and Mrs Barbara Newton and Mrs Mary Ward had
the toughest job in deciding the winner which came
down to one point! Well done to all our students
and thank you to the staff and parents for their
support of this wonderful tradition.
Our Intensive Swimming program continues this
week and the students have been very enthusiastic
even though the water has been a little fresh!
Our secondary students are at the Stockton Beach
surf school today and will get a behind the scenes
tour of the Newcastle Art Gallery this afternoon as
part of their excursion. This is a wonderful
opportunity that is available to very few people and
will give students an idea of some the careers
available in the art world.
Our Scripture Christmas service is on tomorrow
afternoon at 1:45pm in the K/1 room. Our choir will
sing a Christmas carol as part of the service.
Our Presentation Night is on Monday 12th
December at 7:00pm in the Tullamore Memorial
Hall.

The Gobondery Shield and Cup will be held on
Wednesday 14th
December here at Tullamore. The
weather caused us to postpone the Bogan Shield
and Miss Cassie Richards did a lot of negotiation
with Trundle and Tottenham Central Schools to
enable it to be on the same day as the Kadungle
Cup. However, the Gobondery sports organisation
has changed the name to the Gobondery Shield and
Gobondery Cup as they both now involve Trundle
and Tottenham Central Schools. A note will go
home today with all the details.
The Welfare Day will be on Thursday 15th
December for all the students who are currently on
level 7 and have been for 20 weeks or more. The
students were surveyed and asked what they would
like and a program has been developed from their
suggestions. Thank you to Miss Natasha Shankelton
and Mrs Donna-lee Horsburgh for their work on
this.
Friday 6th
December will start with the K/1/2/3
Christmas Party and a visit by Santa at
approximately 10:30am. We will then host our
volunteers „Thank You‟ morning tea at 11:00am. If
you haven‟t received your invitation in the mail
please let me know. The students will then have
Christmas lunch catered by our wonderful P&C
volunteers and funded by the generosity of the Saint
Vincent‟s de Paul Society. We will then finish with
our PBL Tully Bucks Market Day.
At our last Aboriginal Education Consultative
Group (AECG) meeting Tottenham Central School
joined our group. The AECG is an important step in
developing partnerships with our Aboriginal
community. We thank Mrs Diane Darcy for her
tireless work with our local and Western 1 regional
AECG. I will be in Dubbo on Thursday at an
Aboriginal Education Masterclass which is being
presented by Dr Tyson Yunkaporta.
Our next P&C meeting will be held on Monday 6th
February at 7:00 pm in the school library. Everyone
is welcome to attend.
Please feel free to call me at school on 6892 5005
or make an appointment if you need to discuss any
aspect of your child‟s education or if you need
clarification on any issues or events your child may
be involved in.

P&C NEWS
The P&C has a lot of upcoming catering
opportunities as we finish off the school year and
we would gladly appreciate all the help that we can
get at this very busy and hectic time of year. There
are five days coming up that the P&C has been
given the opportunity to cater for:
Page 4
Tuesday, 6 December 2011 Term 4 – Week 9
* Mrs Munro‟s funeral is to be on Monday 12th
December at 10:00am at the Presbyterian church
and the family has asked the P&C to cater for the
wake being held at the club afterwards. The P&C is
asking the Tullamore Central School community
and the wider Tullamore community if they could
please bring a plate to share at the wake. The family
has asked for no hot food as it would be a late
morning tea and would kindly appreciate donations
of sandwiches, cakes and slices. For any further
details please contact Tracey Edwards on 68937
333 or Cindy Larkings on 6893 7320.
* The school will hold a St. Vincent De Paul
luncheon at the school on Friday 16th
December at
12:30pm. The P&C has decided to do a barbeque
with steak and sausage sandwiches, salads, fruit and
poppers for the children, staff and helpers. We
would require helpers to prepare the salads, fruit
and to cook the barbeque. We would need to be at
the school at 10:30am to allow enough time to
prepare all the food. If you are available to help out
for any period of time it would be greatly
appreciated and you can contact Mel Alvey on
[email protected] or 6892 5562.
* The Tullamore Central School Staff are holding
two staff development days on Monday 19th
December and Tuesday 20th
December and the
P&C have been asked to cater for these two days. It
would be the same routine and menu that we
usually provide with food being kindly made and
donated to the school and delivered to the office
and the teachers would help themselves. This time
however we would be catering for a larger number
of people with 30 people attending on the Monday
and 20 people attending on the Tuesday. This may
mean that we need a few more extra helpers than
usual to cover the people attending. If you are
available and willing to help by making either a
fruit platter, cakes/slices or sandwiches or if you
have any other menu ideas then please contact Mel
Alvey on 6892 5562 or [email protected] .
* The P&C has also been offered the chance to
do catering for the school for the first day back
which would be Monday 3rd
February for about 20
people. Again it would be the same routine and
menu options and if you think you will be available
to help out then please contact Mel.
I do understand that we are all busy at this time of
year with harvest, Christmas, concerts, Christmas
parties, school events etc but I would be extremely
appreciative if all families could put their hand up
and help out a little to make the work load lighter
for all. If you can contact me and let me know that
would make the organising a whole lot smoother
and easy on my behalf.
Thanks and kind regards
Mel Alvey

“WHEAT DRIVE 2011/12”
As the harvest season quickly approaches, we
would like to take this opportunity to invite the

directly involved with the centre, to participate in
our 2011 Wheat Drive. Please understand that
there is absolutely no pressure to contribute at all.

Tuesday, 6 December 2011 Term 4 – Week 9
The Wheat Drive allows grain producers to donate
grain to an NGR card that is in the name of the
Tullamore Preschool and Child Care Centre
(TPSCCC). An NGR card for the TPSCCC has
been registered and the number is 12880420. All
donations are completely anonymous, we will have
no way of knowing who has donated what or how
much.
The Graincorp staff will be able to easily split a
load so that you can donate as little as 0.5 tonnes.
For example if you are running 25 tonnes of wheat
in, you can nominate that 1 tonne or 0.5 tonne be
donated to the Centre. All you will need is our
NGR card number, and then nominate the best cash
price for the day. The donated portion doesn‟t have
to be sold the same way as the rest of the load. We
will make sure that the NGR number is advertised
at the silos as well.
Any enquires please don‟t hesitate to contact me on
6892 5488 or email [email protected] .

TRUNDLE JUNIOR CRICKET
Well done to Luke Grady who plays in the Parkes
U16‟s Intertown team due to Condobolin not
having one. Luke‟s team took on Cowra at Cowra
but unfortunately were not successful in securing a
win however on a personal note Luke took 2
wickets for 13 runs off 6 overs and scored 15 runs.
Trundle Rangers
On Saturday the “Trundle Rangers” took on “Colts”
at Condobolin. Bowling first, it took the Trundle
bowlers up to the 13th
over to get our first wicket
but then the wickets started falling with 3 good
catches from Tom Aveyard and 2 to Brad Gaut.
Our fielding at times was lack lustre with players
trying to stop the ball with their feet and not
keeping an eye on the ball when it was coming to
them. Jaiden Burke unselfishly volunteered to play
for the “Colts” to make it 11 vs. 11. Jaiden top
scored for the “Colts” with a hard hitting 31. Some
good fielding was done by Rhian Williams, Lucy

Aveyard and Brad Watt in the outfield. The “Colts”
put up a very competitive 6/118.
Bowling
Sam Nixon 3/6 off 3
Brad Watt 1/7 off 4
Harrison Williams 1/10 off 2
Tom Aveyard 1/17 off 3
Our run chase didn‟t start well with Jai getting a
wicket with his first ball. Some steady batting by
Tom Roberts, Rhian Williams and Darcy Jones
stopped the flow of wickets until Brad Gaut and
Brad Watt saw us pass the score in the 22nd
over.
Batting
Brad Gaut 49 not out
Brad Watt 34 not out
Tom Roberts 5 not out
Tom Aveyard 3 not out
Also not out were Rhian Williams and Darcy Jones.
Bowling
Jaiden Burke 1/9 off 3 and 1 Run Out.
Next week we play at home at the showground in
our last game for this year. Please note there will be
no training this Thursday due to St Patrick‟s Speech
Night.
Under 14’s Condobolin Intertown
On Sunday Condobolin took on Forbes at
Condobolin in the last Intertown game for this year.
Batting first Condobolin scored a massive 194 runs
with Captain Alex Davis scoring 105 on his own.
The Trundle fraternity of the team scored the
following
Mitchell Burke 2
Luke Watt 1
Jaiden Burke 13
Brad Watt 19
Brad Gaut 4
Going into bat saw the Forbes team scoring at the
same rate as us but after fifteen overs the pace
slowed down and they fell short and finished up
with 9/143 in the 41st over.
Bowling
Mitchell Burke 1/22 off 8
Luke Watt 0/10 off 4
Brad Watt 0/11 off 4
Brad Gaut 1/3 off 4
Jaiden Burke 0/10 off 2
