Student achievement in math, reading, and science is increasing overall!
Teachers offer additional help to students before, during, and after school.
EVERY student in need of additional academic and/or behavioral support gets it through our Academic Support Liaison, Behavior Support Liaisons, and General Education Casemanager.
We have advanced and enriched classes for students in need of challenge.
We have TONS of after school opportunities! Student of the Month

P.E. Band
Students will change in the locker rooms.
Students need a pair of shorts and a John Glenn P.E. shirt.
Shorts and shirts can be purchased during Open House in the fall.
Students will have swimming during all three years at John Glenn.
Band instruments can be purchased or rented.
If your child wants to play in the band and rental is not an option for you, we have some school instruments.
Summer band is available.
Reading Workshop and Writing Workshop structures are used in the middle school too. Elementary has been using these structures for many years.
Developmental Designs is used in middle school to build a positive learning-focused community of respect. Elementary schools use Responsive Classroom. DD is the middle school version of RC.
The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program is being implemented at John Glenn too!

Athletes must have a current SPORTS physical on file in the nurse’s office.
Practices are after school until 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays.
Games are typically done by 5:30-6:00. Transportation must be arranged by
parents/guardians. Athletic fees or a payment plan must be set
up with the Athletic Director, Denver Moeller, prior to competition.

Registered Nurse – Deb Givot All medications need doctor’s orders to be
given at school. No new immunizations needed for 6th grade. 7th graders must have additional
immunizations to attend school in the fall of their 7th grade year.
Documents all visits to the nurse’s office. Organizes all student care plans – asthma,
diabetes, allergies, etc.
