Treasury Update Treasurer, Cindy Calderwood advised members at the March General Meeting that offhand TVQG has a balance of between $6,000 and $7,000, which takes into accounts debits and credits from the recent Oregon Garden Retreat.

Yes, There Will Be a May Meeting In the transition of moving TVQG’s meeting from Sherwood to King City, there was some confusion regarding the King City Clubhouse meeting room being available for May 2018. That’s all been cleared up and we are happy to announce that there will be a TVQG General Meeting on May 15, 2018. YEA!

Email Address TVQG communicates announcements, events, Sew Days, and sends this Newsletter to its members via Email. Please make sure your Email address available and current. You can update your information by sending an email to [email protected].

Sew Day, May 12th

TVQG will hold its next Sew Day Saturday, May 12th starting at 9:00 am at the King City Clubhouse in the same room we use for our General Meetings. Members and guests are welcome to attend. Please bring a project you like to work on, your sewing machine and basic sewing tools. Lunch will be on your own. You may want to bring a brown bag lunch (refrigerator is available) or visit any of the several local King City restaurants.

Upcoming Elections

Every May, TVQG holds an election for the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer positions. Committee Chair Positions are filled by board appointment. For detailed information about both the board and committee positions, please refer to the list at the end of this newsletter.

UFO Challenge

TVQG’s UFO challenge is currently underway and will conclude at the October 16th general meeting. Participants in this challenge are eligible to receive one drawing ticket for each quilt they complete from their

UFO list. Three winners will be chosen by a random drawing.

The more quilts you finish the better your chances are of winning a prize. If participating in this contest, bring your completed quilt to any general meeting, present it during Show and Tell, and make sure you collect a ticket for each UFO Quilt presented.

And Now, A Bit of Quilting Humor

THIS IS A WARNING: POTENTIAL DANGER ~ In a press release today, the National Institutes of Health have announced the discovery of a potentially dangerous substance in fabric. This substance, called "amo-bacter fabricicus" has been linked with the following symptoms in female humans: *reluctance to cook *reluctance to perform housework *reluctance to wear anything not made of cotton*reluctance to work except in support of sewing *physical craving for contact with fabric (may be an addiction) Beware! If you come in contact with a female human affected by this substance be prepared to talk about quilting for hours on end. This was a public service announcement ... Surgeon General’s Warning: Quilting is expensive, addictive, and may impair the ability to use common sense.
