TSMY ICT Academy has 2 main focus:- the under-graduates/fresh gradu-ates and the institutions of higher learning in Ma-laysia.

The first focus is on the undergraduates and fresh graduates.

Programs and InitiativesTSMY ICT Graduate Trainee Program

TSMY University Graduate Trainee Programme is currently the largest programme offered under TSMY University. This programme is a strategic milestone which focuses on making every fresh graduate equipped upon their en-trance into T-Systems Malaysia.

The graduate trainee programme runs in a medium-term cycle programme, it stretches 6 months of intensive train-ing into the technological domain of T-Systems Malaysia. During the first 3 months, the trainees will undergo basic ICT appreciation courses and several soft-skills that are customer-centric. The last 3 months of the programme, the trainees will be divided into their technological domain and will undergo intensive training on the respective tech-nological module.

Structured Internship Program

Structured Internship Programme is an internship pro-gramme to attract undergraduates from the best academic institutions in Malaysia. This helps the undergraduates who are seeking internship opportunity to work with T-Sys-tems Malaysia. The interns will gain benefit from learning first-hand in a hands-on approach in a corporate environ-ment in Malaysia. The SIP is largely responsible for expos-ing interns to the unique working environment of TSMY Malaysia as well to experience first-hand one of the best ICT company in the world.

Programs and InitiativesAcademia Talk Initiatives

Academia Career Talk is an initiative of TSMY University to educate the masses about the T-Systems Malaysia job opportunities as well as career growth. This provides an in-depth insight into the business and operations of T-Sys-tems Malaysia.

Apart from gaining insights into T-Systems Malaysia, un-dergraduates gets an overall understanding about the exciting challenges and understanding about T-Systems Malaysia operations.

TSMY Technical Ambassador Program

T-Systems Malaysia Technical Ambassador serve as advi-sors to the universities to improve and upgrade the univer-sity curriculum to align with the ICT industry needs. The role of an advisor is to identify the curriculum gap, to build on critical skills and to provide clear directions to the aca-demic community for students to be industry ready.

The technical ambassador works with selected business groups to advise on certain technologies through the im-plementation of world class curriculum into faculty existing curriculum. Identified technical ambassadors acting as `sponsors or mentors’ for each university/college faculty to build on certain skills required by the industry.

The TSMY University training officially started on the 2nd of May 2012. We were welcomed by many the T-Systems board members, which was great in my opinion. The program went as scheduled and was brief yet informative. The next few days involved the T-Systems on boarding program which was very informative and informed us of the do’s, don’ts, and how’s. The on boarding was conducted near perfection but personally speak-ing there was an overload of information and I would have liked to receive a softcopy of the slides as I find the content very important. Hopefully we will receive the handbook in due time. Great job to the Human Resource department and the speak-ers for an almost flawless on boarding.Soft Skill Training

The soft skills began with the customer service module. This soft skill trainings basically help us trainee have better customer, personal, emotional, and communication skills. The class of May had excellent partition, almost all members of the class participated and readily agreed to input into the training. Due to the various soft skill trainings, I have observed that there is now a sense of team work and harmonious relationship inside the class. At the beginning most members would isolate themselves but now the majority of the participant will work as a team.Technical Training

After the soft skill training at T-Systems our batch were split into two classes. TNow that we have our own computers and technical infrastructure, we were finally able to start our technical training. I am in class A which has just finish their basic IT training, such as Microsoft Words, Excel, Power-Point and finally a training on Networking. These trainings were all conducted by skilled trainers who knew what they were teaching. The relation-ship between the trainers and the trainees was great, both inside and outside of our respective trainings

First I heard about T-Systems Malaysia is when they come to my university for the “UTeM German Day” that held around 2010. My view of T-Systems Malaysia was changed when they publish their open interview advertisement and also the recruit-ment for the T-Systems Malaysia ICT Academy Graduate Trainee. The main reason why I tried my best to get employed by T-Systems Malaysia is I love IT very much and I want know more of it and I think that this technical training can provide me all the knowledge and stuffs that I need and want to know before I further my career in T-Systems Malaysia.

MY FUTURE PREDICTIONMs. Lalita said that all employee even she herself have the chance to improve their career as long as they show their eagerness and perform well in this company. I like to recap what my late father said; he said that we have to show our honesty through anything we did in our life, even in our work. My late father is hardworking person, even though he is a technician but he shows his honest in doing his work but unfortunately cannot continue due to his medical problem. Every day he reminds me to be honest in doing everything.Honestly, I like to work at T-Systems forever, but to work at big company for the long time is more challenging because I have to maintain my work performance and personal effectiveness through-out the time. This difficulty will be ease if I work here honestly. Even my late father also recom-mends me to work at T-Systems forever so that I can continue his legacy but different telecom group company. �

CONCLUSIONThe TSMY University Technical Trainee is defi-nitely the best chance for me to kick start my career in IT field. They provide anything that I have to know before working in real work environment. I just only hope that I can pass this training successfully and make myself comfortable in this new field. Seriously, I recommend this program for those who are in love with IT field but did not know how to get the proper learning process especially for the engineers who did not make it in engineer-ing world. Thank you.
