STUDENT AND PARENT COMMITMENT My child has my permission to
participate in the RAP class selected above. I understand that it
is my responsibility to arrange for my child’s safe and on time
transportation home at the end of class. In the event that the
program takes place off school property, I give my child permission
to travel to and from the off-site activity in a recreation
sponsored vehicle or private ve-hicle. I further agree to hold the
Recreation Commission and the Town of Southborough together with
its agents and em-ployees jointly and severally harmless for any
injury or accidents sustained during the transport. I agree not to
hold responsi-ble the Southborough Recreation Commission; the Town
of Southborough; the owners of the premises where the program is
held; or any of the parties connected with the program for any
injury or accident that may occur during the program. I have read
the student behavior policy from the website, regarding
participation in any RAP program and have reviewed it with my
child. In the event of an emergency, I give authorization for
emergency transportation and medical treatment. I understand that I

Trottier Cross Country Instructor: Jesse Woods Cross Country
running is both a team sport and an effective way to gain overall
fitness for other sports. XC is NOT easy. To really enjoy and
bene-fit from this program, athletes should be able to cover 2
miles in less than 20 minutes BEFORE the season starts. Program
goals include develop-ment of athletic fitness, self confidence,
team spirit and commitment to continuous improvement. We train on
local trails and neighborhoods varying pace and duration.
Destination runs to local “eateries” and weekly meets both home and
away sprint training and document progress. Frequent EM
communications keep all informed of program details and events.
Program dates: September 9 to October 25 ( 8 weeks) no make ups.
Please use separate form to register. Cost: $185 for 8 weeks, no
make ups in this program. Optional purchase of singlet is an
additional $10.
Flag Football Instructor: FAST Athletics Min12 /Max 40 Will your
team be the Trottier Flag Football Champion? We will hold a draft
to pick teams, and make up a game schedule for each day. Standings
will be posted for students to see throughout the season all
working toward the final goal and announcement of the championship
team. This class will teach football techniques and skills, game
strategies of offense and defense, and teamwork. Students will
participate in flag football games, learn game rules, and the
importance of fair play. This program runs for 5 weeks on Tuesdays
and Thursdays (fee includes both days). In the event of rain, the
program will be held indoors. Instructor: FAST Athletics. Program
Time: 2:30 to 3:45 pm
Dodgeball Instructor: FAST Athletics Min 8/Max 24 The students
will learn how to work together, strategize and exercise without
even knowing it! There are tons of creative and competitive
dodge-ball games incorporated into this program. There will never
be a dull moment! Gatorskin dodgeball will be used which are proven
to be the saf-est dodgeballs out there. Safety rules and
regulations will be enforced before each class. This class will be
held at Neary. Pick up is at 3:30 at Neary.
SLIME 2.0 Instructor: Paradise Island Kids Min 5/Max 15 For
those adventurous enough to take their slime creations to the next
level, please join us in making all new borax free slime recipes
including Gold & Silver Foil Slime, Daiso Clay Slime, Fish Bowl
Bead Slime, Clear Marker Slime & More! This class will be held
at Neary. Pick up is at 3:30 at Neary.
Basketball Instructor: Game Time Training Min 12/Max 24 Join
Game Time Training and their staff of experienced coaches for our
power hour basketball program. This program will have a healthy mix
of skills/drills and scrimmage play. Each week, our coaches will
teach the players at least one move-to-the-basket and one key
principle of the game. All scrimmages will be monitored and
controlled when teaching points arise. The GTT staff makes learning
the game fun with interactive drills, music and ENERGY! This class
will be held at Neary. Pick up is at 3:30 at Neary.
Nailed it! Instructor: Paradise Island Kids Min 5/Max 12 Just
like on the popular TV baking show, each week kids will be tasked
with a challenge to re-create a complex confectionary masterpiece
using nut free pre-made ingredients like fondant, gum paste, rice
krispie treats, various frostings/icings, and a real cake. Projects
will consist of deco-rating a wedding cake, food imposter items,
animal statues and more! No experience necessary, all kids will
receive a Nailed It Trophy upon com-pletion of the class. This
class will be held at Neary. Pick up is at 3:30 at Neary.
Fun on the Farm Instructor: Jessica Devine, Chestnut Hill Farm
Min 6/Max 12 Students will dig into fun at Chestnut Hill Farm as
they help care for the farm’s animals, learn to grow farm-fresh
food, create natural crafts, go on hikes through the fields and
woods, and enjoy the great outdoors. Each week will bring a
different adventure! Kids should wear clothes and shoes appropriate
for the weather and playing outside, and bring a nut-free snack and
drink to enjoy when they arrive. This class will be held at
Chestnut Hill Farm and transportation to the farm will be provided
by Southborough Recreation’s van. Pick up is 4:00pm at the
farm.
Baking and Decorating Instructor: Paradise Island Kids Min 5/
Max 12 Learn new and exciting ways to make and decorate cupcakes,
doughnuts & other sweet treats using a variety of different
decorating techniques! Work with buttercream, fondant and a variety
of edible tools and decorations and make a new Fall Themed
masterpiece every week! All ingredi-ents used are nut free. This
class will be held at Neary. Pick up is at 3:30 at Neary.
Let’s Cook! Instructor: Paradise Island Kids Min 5/Max 12 Get
ready to roll up your sleeves and have some fun making an
assortment of Fall Inspired Foods! We will prepare a breakfast
dish, a snack, a salad/soup/app, and a main meal- all from scratch!
Learn about healthy eating, kitchen tools and equipment, and
kitchen safety! All ingredients used are nut free. This class will
be held at Neary. Pick up is at 3:30 at Neary.
3D Art Instructor: Paradise Island Kids Min 5/Max 15 Kids will
learn the art of 3D drawing and sculpting by using our 3D
technology to make one of a kind creations! Lift your imaginations
off the page and join us for this technology based art class with
endless possibilities! All creations will be taken home after
class. No experience necessary, all materials/equipment included.
This class will be held at Neary. Pick up is at 3:30 at Neary.
Roots of Creativity Instructor: Paradise Island Kids Min 5/Max
15 I bet you never thought that building a catapult, making a
terrarium or preparing a no bake cheesecake could help improve your
spelling and increase your vocabulary…. Well, we will show you how!
In this class, kids will learn the Latin and Greek roots that are
the building blocks of our language, all through fun STEAM &
Food Prep activities in an individual and group setting. All
ingredients used for food prep projects will be nut free. Class
taught by professional Tutor & Published Author of Creative
Learning Strategies for Kids. This class will be held at Neary.
Pick up is at 3:30 at Neary.
Fishing Instructor: Tom St. Pierre Min 5/Max 12 This activity
will bring students a lifetime of enjoyment. Participants will walk
down Deerfoot Road to the waterfall and may also walk down
Par-kerville Road to the reservoir next to Fay practice fields.
Fishing equipment will be provided. In the event of inclement
weather. Program may be cancelled and made up at the end of the
session or may be supplemented with an indoor activity. This class
ends at 4:30 and parents must pick students up at Trottier promptly
at 4:30pm.
Archery Instructor: Frank Nellenback Min 8/Max12 This class will
teach you the mechanics and skill involved in using a bow and arrow
and aiming at a target. The class will emphasize archery safety
rules, proper shooting techniques, stance and coordination. It is
an exciting and fun class that will challenge your physical
strength, focus and finesse. This class will be held at Neary. Pick
up is at 3:30 at Neary.
