To a certain extent their \\'orries were justified. Howe\'er, we

were confident tliat \\Te would re(`eive n]any enti`ies in view of the

s`ir|)I.isingly large i`tlmber of entries to the previous years' contests. In

1971, 1018 black and white and color I)liotos and slides were submitted

PHOTO CLUB

Established in 1963 with the unique objec-tive of the widespread dissemination and im-provement of photography, the VAA Photo Clubhas been carrying out the following continuousactivitie s :

I. Organizing every month 3 to 5 photoclasses from grade I to grade VIII and variousspecial courses of darkroom - laboratory tech-niques (of 30 hours per course)to improve ama-teur photographers' photograpbic techniques.

2. Organizing monthly photo tours underthe guidance of instructors.

3. Regularly arranging seminars or lec-tures accompanied by slide showings and criti-cism sessions to help students better understandphotography, exchange their opinions and improvetheir knowledge.

4. Organizing an annual photo exhibitionfor photo club members and students and onenationwide photo contest for all participantsthrought the country.
