We cut into the church’s deficit in 2017 and would hope to continue this trend in 2018. Financial Management Committee It’s a new year and that means that all committees and groups should start working on their reports for the annual report. They can be emailed to [email protected]. Deadline for report submission is FEBRUARY 5. TUC Annual General Meeting - February 18. The "Hands On" group (those who enjoy a couple of hours weekly, stitching, having coffee and chatting) are having a meeting on Monday January 22 at 10am in the Mary Walsh Room, to jump start 2018 and fine tune plans for a couple of projects. All are welcome! 2018 Offering envelope boxes are available in the Narthex. Dr. Tom Urbaniak to speak at the next TUC Talk Building on the excellent presentation by Jaime Smith of St. Francis Xavier Extension Department, the TUC Talks team is delighted to announce our next Speaker, Dr. Tom Urbaniak. Tom is the Director of Cape Breton University’s Tompkins Institute. “Dignity and Development: How Communities Can Work Together” is the title for Tom’s talk, to be held in the Multi-Purpose room at Trinity on Thursday, January 25 th at 7:00pm. WANTED: A hospitality team for our TUC Talks (next January 25). Duties include making coffee, tea plus set up and clean up. PRE-CleanUp: Prior to Saturday, if a few volunteers would be available to sort the good stuff from the junk in the “crow’s nest”, in the tape room, and in the CD room, our task on Saturday will be easier. CleanUp Party: Saturday, January 27 @9am. We need volunteers with trucks, some with good backs and all with the willingness to purge!! The areas of focus will be the Crow’s Nest, CD and Tape Rooms. It’s cold out there . . . but we can help! The Coldest Night of the Year Walk is scheduled for February 24 th . We would like to enter a TUC team but we need a coordinator/captain/cheerleader! Would you be interested? We want to support Roots for Youth as they help combat and support homeless youth in our community. Contact the office! HELP NEEDED: A team to plan and prepare a meal for the Presbytery meeting which will be hosted by Trinity on March 20 th .
