June 2019 Newsletter Dear Parents, End of year preparations Just to advise you that the school reports will be sent home in the coming weeks, by post. If you have any concerns regarding these reports, please make an appointment to discuss with the class teacher. In line with our Green School ethos, Booklists will be uploaded to our School Website in the coming weeks and will be available to download from the ‘ Parents & Guardians’ page. As per Dept. of Education recommendations, we are in the process of moving from cash to online payments. We feel from a security perspective this is a positive move and from feedback in other schools parents seem to find it a more convenient way to pay for school fees, tours, swimming etc. This online payment service will be linked directly to the student’s account to ensure payments are allocated to the correct student. Further details will be issued shortly. Please be advised that homework journals and books under the book rental scheme will not be issued in September until fees are paid in full. Should the need arise, I would ask parents under financial pressure to contact us, in confidence, so that a payment plan can be put in place. Our classes for the next school year are as follows:- Class: Teacher: Junior Infants Joanne Kennedy Senior Infants Maeve O’Connor (Substitute teacher for maternity cover will be appointed). 1 st & 2 nd Class New Appointment 3 rd & 4 th Class Karen Reilly Special Education Teacher Humphrey Murphy Maeve will be commencing her leave on Friday 14 th June. A substitute teacher will be teaching the Junior & Senior infants for the last fortnight of term. Summer Stars at Your Library Meath County Library Service will run the Summer Stars Reading Programme for children in all library branches during the summer holidays from 15 th June to the end of August. This is a free programme and we would encourage children to take part, as research shows that children who read over the summer maintain their reading levels and return to school more prepared for the new school year.
