What are Triglycerides? We have HDL the good cholesterol & LDL the bad cholesterol triglycerides are similar fats present in our food are converted into Triglycerides by liver
They are assimilated in blood and give energy to body. If calories taken more excess triglycerides are formed causing many health problems
Normal range is 100 mg/ DL. Desirable range 150 mg/ DL for a healthy person. If it more than 200 mg/ DL causes many diseases and disorders.
The possible problems like Heart Problems: They form a layer in blood vessel and obstruct blood flow may cause heart problems, paralysis, brain stroke etc.
Diabetes: High triglycerides also causes Diabetes. By consuming polished grain Atta, sweets, saturated fats, animal protein, alcohol will increase central obesity and cause many problems.
Excess triglycerides levels always indicate the uncontrolled diabetes. The dirty cousin Hypertension also follows in majority of the people
Pancreatitis: if the reading is 1000 mg/ DL there will be micro blocks and leads to death of cells and tissues. This increases acid production and releases pancreatic lipase enzyme.
This enzyme produces in a whirl wind manner fatty acids and glycol. That leads to inflammation of pancreas. Which is a serious health problem.
Xantho mass: Excess triglycerides causes yellow masses in various parts like under eye, back, buttocks, chest, arms, knees by reducing triglycerides these masses will disappear
Other Problems: Excess triglycerides reduces blood circulation in the eyes and may lead to vision loss. Also reduces the memory in many people even at young age.
How to test triglycerides levels?By taking a blood sample 12-14 hrs after taking food indicates. Routinely done in lipid profile.

Avoid/ reduce fatty foods, milk & milk products, fried foods as the trans fats increases triglycerides. Take skimmed milk. Avoid refined foods, take foods with fibre like whole multi grains atta, salads, fruits
Omega 3 fatty acids in Soya, Fish in a limited way reduce triglycerides level. Acroot, Almonds strengthens heart and help to reduce triglycerides. Beetroot/ Pomegranate juice 200 ml with 2 gm pepper daily for 45-60 days helps a lot.
Daily exercise like walking, cycling, swimming, gardening, out door games for 30-40 min releases endorphins and will help to reduce triglyceride levels. They also helps to reduce cholesterol and reduce over weight.
