Spotlight on AutismThe Carson Kolzig Foundation is a nonprofit organization in Tri-Cities, Washington, dedicated to education and resources for individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families. Through the CKF Responding to Autism Center, families have a centralized location where autism services are available in the community. exciting properties of light in your classroom. The Pacific Science Center brings a mini science center to you with their tabletop exhibit sets, experiments, and

activities. Explore meteorites, constellations and Jupiter’s storms in this interactive exhibit. You can be an astronomer when you manipulate a robot arm or look at

the surface of Mars. What would the Big Dipper look like from the other side of the universe? How much do you weigh on Venus? Find out answers to these questions

and more when you visit the Space Odyssey exhibit!

1. Rollarena Skating Center: Where Family and Friends Come for Fun The Rollarena Skating Center is celebrating 60 years in business this year and invites the community to attend an Open House Celebration, either to skate or just drop by and share memories. Come and join us on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 6pm to 10pm. Admission is only $6 and all proceeds go to MY FRIENDS PLACE. Jeff Jacobs from Tri-City radio and former Rollarena DJ will be playing the music of the last 60 years.

2. Tri-City Americans Hockey: Seven games in January 2014. Game time 7:05 pm except January 19th at 5pm. More info at yourtoyotacenter.com

3. Mickey’s Music Festival: Friday Jan. 10th 4pm and 7pm. Mickey Mouse and his band of friends, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy will be performing in a music mash-up of mega proportions when Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival debuts in Kennewick at the Toyota Center. Concert goers will hear the greatest hits form the blockbuster movies, Aladdin, The little Mermaid, and Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story remixed to rock, pop, reggae, hiphop,jazz and country, among other jams. Produced by Feld Entertainment Disney Live, Mickey’s Music Festival strives to be the biggest concert experience to hit live family entertainment. 4. Family Expo: January 24th and 25th. Tri-Cities Family Expo is celebrating Super Families. Come to the 2014 Tri-Cities Family Expo dressed as your favorite super hero. Pacific Science Center will be here again. This year they will be bringing Space Odyssey. Hours: Friday, February 24th, 12pm to 8pm. Saturday the 25th, 10am to 5pm. 8. Harlem Globetrotters 2014 FANS RULE World Tour: February 20th at 7pm. The world famous Harlem Globetrotters have been thrilling families and millions of fans for 88 years, all the while innovating the game in exciting new ways. Last year, the Globetrotters did something unparalleled in the history of sports and entertainment, letting the fans vote on new rules to be used in actual games.
