HIGH QUALITY PROTECTIVE COATING & ANILOX ROLLS
The anilox roll’s primary function is to deliver a precise, uniform wet ink film thickness to a printing plate.
To determine the ink carrying cell volume, Praxair developed a unique TM
liquid volume measurement tool - the URMI system.
The URMI volume measurement system closely simulates the actual ink metering process.
Using the URMI system (step-by-step instructions):-
Ó The anilox roll must be cleaned with distilled or tap water & wiped dry.Ó A positive displacement pipette, an high precision pharmaceutical tool is included with the URMI
system kit & should be caliberated to dispense the desired quantity of ink.Ó Once ink has been applied to the roll surface, the URMI tractor assembly is used to evenly spread the
ink.Ó Electrostatic copy paper is then placed against the roll & rubbed over the ink area.Ó Calculating roll volume is done with the URMI app, a mobile application that is able to measure the
area & immediately calculates the volume.
It gives an immediate useful information that is easily shareable with the entire printing team through the common’s message services.
