On one hand it provides a podium to international artists, both established and emerging, from a variety of countries, thereby extending their international networks. On the other hand it provides support to the ‘BogotaZonderHonger’ foundation which helps support children in Bogota, Colombia. Following the on-site exhibition of artworks, selected pieces will be auctioned and a portion of the proceeds donated to the Foundation. The event is supported by the Municipality of Bernheze, and Castle Heeswijk Horeca, located in historical Castle Heeswijk and created and organized by Studio Ekaterina.

Amiran Djanashvili entered the Spacial Art School in Tbilisi at the age
of seven. After finishing the school he entered the sculpture faculty of
the State Art Academy, where he graduated in 1987. Since 1991
Amiran lives with his family in the Netherlands and exhibits his works
in many countries. Amiran’s sculptures are sold in Japan, Israel, USA,
Belgium, Germany, the former Soviet Union and of course the
Netherlands. Amiran considers composition and form as the most
important; his sculptures are compact and can be carved from stone,
wood or casted in bronze. He is very keen on details, as every detail must contribute to the total
composition. Amiran uses constructive forms to create a composition and 3D elements are very
important – the sculpture must not have an obvious “facade” but should be interesting from all sides.
All the forms must be plastically interesting and should be in perfect harmony with each other.

TREASURES FOR THE FUTURE. EDITION 2014
Ekaterina KRUCHKOVA. Russia / Netherlands
Russian-born artist, currently livs and works in the Netherlands where
she founded Art Photo Studio STUDIO EKATERINA in 2012. She finds
inspiration in her travels around the world. The millennium was a time of
great change in her personal and professional life; she fully dedicated
herself to art and found in this her vocation. There are two main
independent directions in her work, and they are interdependent. One
results from deep reflection, meditation and expression of emotional and most elusive moments of her
inner life. This gives a character of spontaneity and uniqueness to each artwork. So she creates her
drawings and paintings. Her drawings are done in ink on small size paper. Regarding the paintings,
she only works with oil on canvas. The other one is the whole impression of everyday life around her,
reflected in artistic research in photography. Her intention is to show ordinary items in such a way that
details are present that would normally be overlooked. She wants people to be able to distinguish all
the particulars of the subject, thereby bringing the subject to life. In this way, the ordinary becomes
something extraordinary.
In photography she uses a variety of mediums and techniques, such
as aluminum and acrylic; in the same way all her photographs reflect
reality without using any digital editing. Her photographs have taken
part in exhibitions in France, Russia, Austria, England, Italy,
Montenegro and the Netherlands. Some of her works belong to
private collections in these countries and also in the United States.
She equally works for the publishing house Romanoff in Moscow
(Russia) and for the magazine World and House. One of her finalized
projects Theatre of one actress with the Russian prosaic writer
Marina Palei was published in the International magazine on
literature, artistic and cultural topics Maecenas and World. Church in the sky, 42x59 cm, semi-metallic photography

TREASURES FOR THE FUTURE. EDITION 2014
Eva Patricia MURAKEÖZY. Hungary
Creation is constant in life. Through each and every act in life we create:
the way we stand, walk, talk. We create this environment around
ourselves. However, most of these creations are transient because they
are derived from/bound to a momentary situation. But some of these
creations are independent of the given situation, or, the situation just
serves as a starting point or an excuse for their making. Since they are not
bound to a given time/space reality, they are meaningful for a wider group
of people, and throughout centuries. These we distinguish as artworks.
For me creation is an inner necessity. It is the way to let go of something which would otherwise
disturb me. Periods of „gestation‟ alternate with periods of creation. Gestation periods are often
troublesome. I feel an increasing distance from previous (ongoing) works and feel my life increasingly
meaningless. When the new is ready to be born, a moment of relaxation is enough to let it come forth.
So there is this steam which needs my „engine‟: my individual experiences, aesthetic feelings,
practical knowledge, etc… in order to produce an artwork.
The main theme of the presented works is organic growth. It is the way creeping plants grow;
searching and trying, equally helped by diffusion and contraction, by perfection and imperfection. The
amazing thing is that this process is able to lead to the most clear and stable crystal forms as well as
to such complicated organs as the human ear or heart.

Ineke VAN BERKOM. Netherlands
Working at home and travelling throughout the world I was inspired by
other cultures, environments and landscapes which I translated in portraits
and in colourful figurative paintings. Gradually there has been a shift in my
work from the figurative to the abstract as I can express more of myself in
the adventure of what is developing by applying several coats of acrylic
paint and other materials. Experimenting with all kinds of materials or stuff
that I gather is my biggest joy. I paint and apply, scrub, destroy and build
again. Little by little a skin arises.
Nowadays the world around me is my biggest inspiration.
Motives from nature but also weathered walls, rusted iron, erosion…the imperfect attracts me.
Whether I am travelling or just walking in the streets around the corner I get fascinated by the view as
well as by the smallest details just in front of my feet. Especially the natural deterioration fascinates
me. Their shifting structure, colour and shape have a beauty that is beyond words. My work is all
about the cycle of growth, flow, movement and decay.

Jorge JURADO. Colombia
The images shown during the exhibition are a small part of Jurado’s most
recent one-man show called, Imagined Memories (Jan – March 2014).
The exhibition took place at the historical Saint Peter Claver Monastery in
Cartagena, and reflects upon his earliest memories as a child in his
Caribbean hometown of Cartagena. Almost throughout his whole artistic
career, Jurado has consistently juxtaposed contrasting compositions in
order to create a dialogue within his works. He is strongly attracted to the
world of comic books, as well as to the colours of pop art. Jurado first
studied economics due to family pressure and then at the Escuela de
Bellas Artes de Cartagena (1982 - 1985). He moved to N.Y. and studied
drawing at the art Students League. He has had 16 one-man shows and has taken part in numerous
national and international group exhibitions. In Germany he was exhibited twice at Galerie Ruta
Correa in Freiburg (2001 and 2005). His works are in private collections in Colombia, Venezuela, the
Dominican Republic, France, Spain and is mostly collected in Germany.

TREASURES FOR THE FUTURE. EDITION 2014
José HEERKENS. Netherlands
My work is about the essence of space by the concentration and intensity
of line and colour. Space is in motion and at the same time it is endless
and boundless. I search for the phase of rest and motion, sound and
silence, distance and nearness, form and openness. Finding balance
between colour, line, measure and form is important in this process
towards space. The lines shape and guide space. Both the vertical and
the horizontal line is needed. Besides direction it creates rhythm and
repetition. It is the horizontal line that dominates through the painting
process; it pulls the image out to the sides, towards a horizontal space.
The vertical lines create the framework and set the scale. The vertical line
returns in the shape of the aligned horizontal line. In every painting is the need to zoom in on colour
and the appropriate dosage of its space, light and energy. I search for every colour, its identity and the
relation to another colour. Being free of matter, colour gets its form and is materialized in the length
and width of the line and by the physicality of paint.

Philani Luthuli’s paintings have gained international acclaim. Some of his artworks form part of a
travelling exhibition that is currently taking place in Russia. He also exhibited his paintings at the World
Expo in Shangai in 2010. A self taught artist, Luthuli’s journey to creating art started as a child when
used to draw. This led to painting later on in life. “I was lucky to have people around who understood
and did art from an early age”, says Luthuli.

Pol DURRUFF. France
Between 2005 and 2009 he became head of the training department of the
Photographic Federation of France (FPF). Since then, he devoted himself
to art photography and has exhibited in France various series of
photographs. For over twenty years he has mainly worked on the
phenomena of reflection and its pictorial records.
Photographic impressionnism The series "impressionnisme photographique" shows the close relationship
that can exist between photography and painting. The agitation of water
causes fleeting images in which the shapes and colours come together, to form abstract and unique
paintings. All his research is to freeze the perfect moment when the composition and distribution of
light are balanced to give birth to a harmonious picture, procedure identical to that of a painter.
Looking at his works we are wondering: Is it a painting or a photograph? That destabilizes our vision
and gives us a new vision of contemporary photography.

TREASURES FOR THE FUTURE. EDITION 2014
Rob NIJHUIS. Netherlands
My pictures tell a story with a beautiful combination of silence,
abandonment and architecture. I take thrill in finding a new location
where no one ever took pictures before. The excitement of selecting a
new location, the adrenaline in our system when we are standing in
front of an abandoned building. Will we be able to get in, is there
security? What will we find there, complete chaos or the beauty of a
forgotten past? This is Urban Exploration, the exploration of man-made
structures, usually abandoned ruins or not usually seen components of
the man-made environment. Photography and historical interest / documentation are heavily featured
in this way of photographing and, although it may sometimes involve trespassing onto private
property, this is not always the case and is of innocent intention. I aim for imaging eternally in the best
possible way. Sometimes people ask me if I created a setting for a picture, because it looks so bizarre,
but I don’t touch anything, I only take pictures and leave footprints. That’s the challenge, searching for
special places and capture pictures with a story.

Sharon KUISIS. South Africa
I've been drawing and painting ever since I can remember. I was
encouraged by family and friends and although I started out doing
portraiture I have always been a great lover of wild life and I use my other
great love, photography, to capture images I paint. After working in pastels
for over 10 years, I decided to try different techniques with oils. After
learning the basics and many hours of experimenting I managed to
capture the soft pastel effect in oils. I love the dustiness of the African
plains and this is where I got the inspiration for the technique. Photography and painting are my 2
great passions, and I have recently taken them up full time. I spend time in the bush taking photos,
then I work from my studio at home either developing them into fine art photography or using them to
create an original artwork. I work in oils, charcoal and pencil.

go along with it; I use combinations of traditional Digital mix media. My
work tends to be based on computer to create colourful images and
abstract and these will also be confirmed by this Exhibition. Colour is all
around us. We see it all the time. Most of us have no idea the impact of
colour has on our lives. Colour is in every part of life. This impact of the
many colours in our environment is usually not conscious. Take a moment
every day to look around you and feel the colours, enjoy the colours. Live your life in full colour. “I am

Valentina PISCOPO. Italy
“The international and diverse energy of Valentina Piscopo’s art
work and career is heavily inspired by her own origins and beginning.
With her childhood divided between Italy and Kenya her experiences
as a child have strongly influenced the aesthetic of her art. She has
perfected a unique mix of different mediums to create tactile layers
within her artworks which are inspired by landscapes, patterns and
wildlife of Eastern Africa. What is most particular about the
artist’s work, is the hybrid of ethnic influences; part-recycled materials and western practices.” Art
