Trapcode 3D Stroke 2.6: How to install for Adobe CS5.5 on

Mac OS X

Products that are included in Trapcode Suite 11, Magic Bullet Suite 11, Keying Suite 11 and EffectsSuite 10 are able to be installed for Adobe CS5.5 by just downloading the most recent installer andselecting the Adobe CS5.5 check box during installation.

We are currently working on updating other product installers (i.e. Magic Bullet Quick Looks) totarget the Adobe CS5.5 directory automatically. If you wish to install this Red Giant product forAdobe CS5.5 before this updated installer is available you may refer to the steps included below.

View compatibility with Adobe CS5.5.

Step 1 - How to install for Adobe CS5.5 on Mac OS X

1. Be logged-in as the Admin.Installing while logged-in as a user and entering the Admin's password to authenticatethe installer will not properly install the software.

2. If you are using the Trapcode, Magic Bullet Keying or Effects Suite Product Installer,select the Adobe CS5.5 check box on the Installation Type screen.

This will automatically install the Trapcode, Magic Bullet, Keying or Effects Suiteproduct in the correct Adobe CS5.5 directory and you will not need to move the plug-infrom CS5 to CS5.5.If you are not installing using the Trapcode Product Installer, Magic Bullet ProductInstaller, Keying Suite Product Installer or Effects Suite Product Installer, see next stepbelow.

3. For all other Red Giant products, run the installer for Adobe CS5 and select to installfor Adobe CS5.

4. Complete the rest of the installation process and then move the product's files from theAdobe CS5 directory to the Adobe CS5.5 directory, see below for these locations.

Step 2 - After Effects CS5 and CS5.5 directories

Installs to CS5: MacHD\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS5\MediaCoreMove to CS5.5: MacHD\Library\Application Support\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS5.5\MediaCore

Troubleshooting: if you do not have CS5 installed and are having difficulty with the installer creatingthis Adobe CS5 directory for you, please try the following

1. Manually create the Adobe CS5 directory.See above for the Adobe CS5 folder(s) to create based on your product(s).

Then re-run the product installer.2. Some of our Mac product installers have a custom install option.

During installation when you are on the Installation Type screen, click on MediaCorefolder under Location. If this is not an available option, there will be no folder listedunder Location and it will not be clickable.Click Other and navigate to the proper plug-in folder (see above for Adobe CS5.5directories), click Choose, and finish installation.Please note that if you use this method and if the Red Giant product you are installingalso has presets and/or scripts, then these still may install to the Adobe CS5 directory,only the plug-in file will install to the CS5.5 directory.
