Being the largest combined cycle project in the world, each plant will be made up of 8 gas blocks and 4 steam blocks and will generate 4,800MW of power. The total heavy cargo ALE has been contracted to deliver comprises of: 16 gas turbines weighing 486t and the corresponding generators, 8 steam generators transformers weighing 396t, and in collaboration with local companies more than 380 boiler modules, weighing between 40t - 192t, 16 transformers for gas blocks weighing 196t and 8 transformers for steam blocks weighing 196t. The project started in mid-April, focusing on the Beni Suef plant and carry on in New Capital 2 months later. By the end of August, ALE had transported 6 turbines, 6 generators and 2 transformers at the power plant in Beni Suef and 1 transformer, 2 generators and 2 turbines to New Capital.
