the future

The IoT will be in full force, devices now talk to each other and make automated decisions.

The Japanese Kuruma Banare (de-motorization)

will become an international trend.

The future won’t be about either/or, more

like a mix of everything!

The Internetof Things

RFID signalswill be transmitted from

virtually anything

RFID readerpicks the signal up and

relays it to the web

webanalyses the data

traveldecisions are made

Smart Cards are set to come out soon, equipped with RFID technology, which can be read by most NFC enabled smartphones.

This is how your nimble is activated:1. Swipe your smartphone on the Smart Card2. nimble is launched3. You select the route/transport you’re interested in

Through the internet of things our devices will start communicating to each other.

Self monitored info, it will all be connected.

Kuruma Banare is a reality and mixed transportation is the norm.

Manchester is a greener city with more active and healthy citizens.

So how can we make the future happen

FASTER?

Page 21: Transport for Greater Manchester / Hyper Island

RFID tags switch on when in proximity with a smartphone or GSM phone. So, what if we crowd source that energy?

Page 22: Transport for Greater Manchester / Hyper Island

We can build an RFID network created by the people for the people.

Page 23: Transport for Greater Manchester / Hyper Island

how does it work?

Bus stops are embedded with read-write RFID

Passengers swipe their phone when the bus arrives.

The info is uploaded into the platform.

The data is visualized to keep track of the bus.
