Chapters 2 Matter

Matter – is anything that takes up space and has mass.

Example: book, air, water, …. You

What is matter made up of?

2000 years ago, the Greek philosopher Democritus named the smallest piece of matter ATOM – “uncuttable or indivisible”

Atom – the smallest complete unit of matter or “the basic building blocks of matter”

There are 3 parts of an atom:
