Sound Transit – South King County HCT Corridor Study• Analyze potential 2035 ridership of new HCT lines (light rail or BRT)
Downtown Seattle
West Seattle
Burien
SeaTac
Tukwila
Renton
Problem –• Unexpected high east-west
ridership
• Verify if it is transfers north-south transit lines, or land use of nearby zones
Solution - Station-to-Station Analysis
Steps
1. Copy scenario/run extended transit assignment to save optimal strategies
2. Create transit segment attribute & flag transit line
3. Create text file of station node labels
4. Run extended transit traversal analysis
5. Output - text file with O-D stations & riders
6. Use Excel - filter tool to aggregate & chart results

Conclusion
• Confirmed strong east-west ridership • Facilitates transfers to north-south lines that are not as easy under
current conditions
• Station – to – Station Analysis tool simple to use• Can be used as QA/QC of transit coding• Further analysis utilized the path-based analysis tool for zone-to-
zone transit flows between a specific link
