Growth from childhood

to spiritual young

adulthood happens in

the context of ministry

and SERVICE.

Page 8: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

All Christians are called

to ministry!

Page 9: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

JESUS’ PLAN FOR

DISCIPLES IS MINISTRY

AND SERVING OTHERS!

Page 10: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

I. Equip spiritual young

adults for ministry and

service

Page 11: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

A. An important element

of training is teaching

them to be HUMBLE!

Page 12: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

B. We need to equip

them for ministry

TOGETHER. They

need to cooperate,

and be kind.

Page 13: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

C. We need to prepare

them for success and

FAILURE.

Page 14: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

We will not always

minister and be

successful! We will

have disappointments

and discouragement

as well as glorious

times of victory,

conversions and

spiritual growth.

Page 15: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

II. PROVIDE Ministry

Opportunities

Page 16: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

A. Show them

EXAMPLES of

ministry, then Help

them EXPERIENCE

ministry.

Page 17: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

B. Ministry is for

ALL OF US! We all

have talents and

abilities that God

can use.

Page 18: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

C. The pattern of

teaching happens

this way:

Page 19: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

1.Take them along

with you when

you go out on

ministry and they

WATCH what you

do and say.

Page 20: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

2. Take them along

with you, and let

them PARTICIPATE

in aspects of

service

Page 21: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

3. Take them out for

ministry and let

them do IT ALL,

with you

supervising and

watching.

Page 22: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

4.Let them go out

doing ministry on

their OWN.

Page 23: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

5. When they are

ready, they can

begin to DISCIPLE

someone else.

Page 24: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

III. RELEASE

Spiritual Adult

Disciples to DO

Ministry

(2 Timothy 2:2)

Page 25: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

A. Example: Acts 6

and the 7 DEACONS

appointed to help

distribute food for

widows.

Page 26: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

B. Maturity is not a

matter of Bible

knowledge, the

number of years

since you were born

again, whether you

are a church

official,

Page 27: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

but more about

CARING for others

and MINISTERING

to their needs.

Page 28: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

C. Maturity is

indicated by the

ability to

REPRODUCE

disciples who can

disciple others.

Page 29: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

1. Explain the

discipleship

process clearly.

Page 30: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

2. Encourage your

disciple to identify

potential disciples

who are faithful,

available, and

teachable.

Page 31: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

a.Faithful= serious

and COMMITTED

to the things of

God; not sporadic,

impulsive or

unwilling.

Page 32: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

b. Available=

allocating time and

PRIORITIES to

growing his walk

with God and in his

relationships.

Page 33: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

c. Teachable=

willing to LEARN

and open to seeing

new truth through

honest questions.

Page 34: Training spiritual adolescents for ministry

3. Release them to

disciple ALONE and

“parent their own

kids.” At this point

they become our

peers!
