Urbanization is a global trend generating environmental, social and economical changes. Fromthe ecological point of view, urbanization alters rural ecosystems into urban, changes functionsand properties of vegetation, soil, water and atmosphere. However, from the economic andsocial perspective urbanization creates new society with the specific features, habits anddemands. Environmental, social and economical consequences of urbanization raises up newchallenging problems (e.g. air and water pollution, soil degradation, labour migration, etc), butat the same time create a niche for a new type of careers able to manage and monitoringurban-rural interactions and sustainable urban development.

The main aim of the project is use the European experience on Universities-Enterprises interactions, to improve the cooperation between HEIs andEmployers in Russia and China and to create educational facilities, allowinggraduate students to adapt to the requirements of the regional andinternational market and to benefit from the new career opportunities inthe sphere of sustainable rural-urban development.


Project goal: Creating capacities in professional growth, careers and international networking for graduates in landscape design, urban planning, environmental sciences and agriculture from EU, Russia and China

Target groups: Graduate students enrolled in partner universities (higher education institutions, HEIs)

Implementation: • Round tables and meeting with the stakeholders• Student mobilities• Web-based trainings (as preparation to mobilities) • Internships and professional trainings within local HEI-employer

networks• Web portal bringing together employers, HEIs and students

The first event: the Kick-off meeting in Viterbo (Italy) to build-up thenetwork among partners and organise the management of the followingactivities


The second event (Russia): contribution to the RUDN summer school andSmart Cities Conference; visit the RSAU labs and facilities
