J ohn lives in La Pine OR and has provided a brief summary of what he’s up to. “I am new to vintage motorcycles but quickly getting the bug. I’ve been riding most of my life on newer machines. My son and I found a garage bike in Portland last June, a 1935 VLD, and have started the restoration process, it was pretty beat up, we have been gathering parts, and knowledge from around the world. It’sbeen a lot of fun. We are hoping to have it ready for the Fort Sutter meet in Dixon, CA for its first judging.”Enjoy your project John. We wish you the best of luck getting the VLD together. We’ll look for you and your bike at the Ft. Sutter meet in June if we don’t see you sooner.March Meeting Minutes Gene called the meeting to order at 2: 27. The meeting was held in the museum in Brooks, OR Attendees: Gene, TomR, Bruce, Terry, Norlene, Don, Jackie, Chuck, TomK and Gary. Treasurer Report: TomR presented his report. Tom went on to discuss his preparation of our 2013 taxes. Tom has been in contact with the CPA provided by the AMCA to work through the issues of being an independent non-profit corporation registered in the state of Oregon. Gene suggested Tom tal k with Paul as Paul set up our club’s tax status several years ago. 2014 National Road Run: Two more road run registration were received. TomR mentioned the pace of incoming registrations is ahead of last year. TomR called to verify accommodations at the River Life Resort. Rooms are going fast. 10 or so remain. Be sure to mention you’re with the Antique Riders when requesting a reservation to avoid being told all are booked. See the web page for additional facilities. More discussion on new requirement that we see written proof of liability insurance for road run participants. We believe we need to “check ID” at re gistration. Gary has changed the web page to highlight the requirement and Shannon will add an insurance disclaimer to the national waiver form. Jackie suggested every registrant receive a reminder to bring their papers. TomR and Bruce will adjust our registration process accordingly. Tom and Gene will refine maps. T omK would like to adjust the routes to include more planned stops. Directions will be added on the back. Oregon Trail National Road RunJuly 17, 18, 19, 2014 Harrisburg, Oregon

enthusiast and vintage racer Dave Kaechele, whowill talk about vintage BMW sidecar racing. BMWroad racing sidecars were dominant in the 50’s
and 60’s. Those outfits were very specialized andcost as much as a house today. Dave and hispartner Jason Vaden have a built a$5-6 k outfitand will explain its development.
“We raced it twice last summer and had somesuccess, but we still have much to learn. We have
performed some modifications over the winterand I will share that information as well.” Riding a
sidecar is enjoyable and you do not need to becrazy to do it. Dave will explain the process and
perhaps encourage another team to develop an
outfit to vintage road race.
This is intended to be a highly interactive class
with questions and discussion encouraged. Davewill encourage any expertise within the audience
