The Greylock Glen Vision Hike it. Bike it. See it. Ski it. Explore Greylock Glen. When you visit Greylock Glen today you’ll find beautiful scenery and a magnificent natural environment with many options for outdoor recreation and activities. In the coming years, the site will be enhanced by the addition of educational programming, camping, an outdoor amphitheater, an environmentally-friendly lodge with conference facilities, and much more. The Greylock Glen Resort will soon become the premier destination for outdoor recreation, ecotourism and environmental education in the Berkshires. At the same time the project will conserve and protect the Glen’s unique natural and scenic resources. More than 1,000 acres of the Glen will remain undeveloped and managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation. About half of the remaining 56 acres will be sustainably developed to provide lodging, recreation, education and cultural activities for visitors and residents. Bellows South– Rocky, moderately steep trail. 1.1 mi. Birch Meadow - Easy trail through a lovely birch meadow with views of Mt. Greylock. 0.6 mi. Bittersweet – Single track, somewhat flat across the meadow, then climbs in switchbacks. 0.6 mi. Brookside – Moderately steep, rocky climbs. 0.6 mi. Bucket – Steep, through a meadow to start then wooded. 0.5 mi. Cheshire Harbor – Moderately rocky double track with switch- backs. Take the right branch to climb to the summit. 2.4 mi. Dave’s Pass East – Double track dirt pathway; smooth, steep, a great descent on a mountain bike. 0.4 mi. Glen Meadow Loop – Mostly flat, gravel covered 10-foot wide loop which meanders around the main part of the Glen. 1.6 mi. Gould – Moderately steep and rocky in some places, good way to get to the summit of Mt. Greylock. 2.8 mi. Gould Connector– Single track, some inclines and rocky areas, pay attention to blazes to avoid unmarked trails. 0.7 mi. Hidden Meadow – Single track, mostly flat along a stone wall, then climbs slowly uphill. 0.4 mi. Little Dragon Tail.– Single track, smooth and meandering, switchbacks through a beautiful hardwood forest. 0.8 mi. Meadow – Moderate, grassy path. 0.1 mi. Moonwort – Single track, moderate switchbacks up, a nice hike through wooded terrain with great views of the ravine. Also one of the best downhill runs on a mountain bike. 0.7 mi. Moser Farm Loop East – Mostly flat double track, climbs slightly to a beautiful view of Mt. Greylock. 1.3 mi. Moser Farm Loop West – A few small hills up then a long down great for skiing, biking or hiking. 0.9 mi. Peck’s Falls – Short, steep hike down to falls. 0.1 mi. Ribbon Falls – Steep uphill off of Moonwort, runs along the brook with water falls. 0.1 mi. Roost Trail – Grassy, moderately easy path. 1.2 mi. South Side Connector - Single track designed for biking, but a easy hike; smooth and flat with a short steep climb. 0.6 mi. Thunderbolt – Very strenuous, rocky double track then opens to a wide ski trail covered in ferns. 1.8 mi. White Tail – Moderate, grassy double track. 0.3 mi. Wolf Tree - Single track designed for biking but also good for hik- ing or running; smooth, not technical with an easy climb. 1.1 mi. The expanded and improved multi-use trail system at Greylock Glen is a project of the Department of Conservation and Recreation working with volunteers from the Thunderbolt Ski Runners and the Student Conservation Association.
