Beginning with the worshipful attention to the music, ending with the awesome visual of our sins vanishing in a breathtaking flame, the evening was one to mark a new path for us all. After a beautiful and heart-stirring anthem, “Without His Cross”, by Mark and the choir, Rodger prepared our hearts with a message lead- ing us to a place of repentance based on Psalm 51. Everyone was en- couraged to write a sin, problem or person on a small piece of paper, take it to the altar in prayer and put it in a clay pot. After this, all who were present met with Rodger at the front of the altar to receive the mark of repentance – a cross representing the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Then, Rodger lit the pieces of paper on fire and a huge beautiful flame shot up and immediately died. When the cauldron was turned over, there was nothing left! Thanks to our wonderful pastor, Rodger, whose heart is passionate for us to live the abundant life promised to us by our Lord, this ser- vice was planned to inspire, encourage, and convict us. Praise God for His healing power and praise Jesus for His obedi- ence to die on the cross for each of us so that there is not a trace of our repented sins on our record in heaven!
