• Syndrome differentiation :

to analyze and synthesize clinical data, symptoms and signs of a patient collected by way of the four diagnostic methods (a joint term for inspection, auscultation and olfaction, interrogation, pulse feeling and palpation), finding out the cause 、 nature 、 location of disease, and the situation about fight between the body’s vital-Qi and the evil-Qi in a stage, thus determining and summarizing a certain syndrome.
