Renigunta is a gateway to world famous pilgrim centre of Lord Sri. Venkateswara swamy of Tirumala. Renigunta is connecting Railway link to Tirupati, Katpadi & Kanyakumari in the one direction, Chennai in the second direction, Gun- takal & Mumbai in the third direction & Gudur, Vijayawada, Kolkata & New Delhi in the fourth direction. GDR- RU- TPTY section is one that connects Vijayawada Division with Guntakal Division and forms a by pass line for South bound trains from north, and eastern parts of the country. Profile Details: In the year 1984 GDR- RU - TPTY section about 150 TKM (Single line) was electrified making Guntakal Division to occupy a place in the Electrifica- tion map of Indian Railways. INTRODUCTION:
First Electrification work in Guntakal Division was taken up between

SOUTH CENTRAL RAILWAY
The electrification of double lines between Renigunta and Moodunoor was
completed in the end of Dec-2011, serving four sidings, two at Yerraguntla, one at
Kallamala, and one at Moodunoor. Its is expected electrification will be completed
up to Guntakal by the end of Dec-2012.
Infrastructure was created for maintaining this mighty electrified sec-
tion at various stations with latest facilities to maintain reliability & tackle
break downs at shortest time. Equipments at Railway Traction Substations
are being controlled remotely from Remote Control Centre at Guntakal.
Status of equipment and parameters at all Remote terminal units will be
monitored from Remote Control Centre. Electric Loco shed is being con-
structed at Guntakal to cater Electric engines to coaching and passenger
trains. Un-interrupted power supply to run trains is taken at 132 kV high
voltage supply from DISCOMs at various stations.
Self propelled OHE inspection Cars and Road vehicles are equipped at
various maintenance depots all along electrified route of Guntakal Divi-
sion. Electrification work will be taken up on other sections i.e Guntakal-
Wadi & Gooty-Bangalore shortly to cover 85% of route kilometers of Gun-
takal Division.
The monthly average electrical consumption towards Electrical Trac-
tion is 11.3million units, billing to 06.10 Crores (approx.).
Tariff: Rs.5.43 /unit (with effect from 01.04.2012) (Billing as per KVAH)

Duties of Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Tr) :
Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer – Traction of Guntakal Divisional is the
over all incharge of the Traction Distribution and Traction Operations. He is
responsible for all technical and organizational matters connected with the ef-
ficient maintenance and operation of the power supply installations, Over
Head Equipment, Remote control centre in the traction distribution, Electrical
train operations in the division.
Duties of Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer(TrD) :
Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer – Traction Distribution in RU and HX
will assist the Sr DEE/Tr in the maintenance of PSI, OHE in their respective
jurisdictions.
Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer – Operations will assist the Sr DEE/Tr
in the matters of train operations, Crew Management etc stationed at RU.
