AHJS TRACK SCHEDULE 2015
PRACTICE & MEET SCHEDULES
Practice schedules will be posted on the Coaches’ teacher web page for specific events.
Weather is always a factor in track and we will try to have practice when scheduled as much as possible.
If practices or meets have to be canceled we will put information on the teacher web pages as well as sending an email through athletics newsletter when applicable. Meets will most likely NOT be canceled for rain.
Track meet days- some students will have early dismissal if they are in a field event that day. All work is required to be made up by the student, preferably by the end of that week.
Girls M-F 3:30- 4:30 Mornings are scheduled by
event.
Boys M-TH 3:30-4:30 Mornings are scheduled by
event.
Meet informationTrack meet events will run in the same order
each meet.
Field events will some times change order between boys/girls or 7th/8th grade.
Field events begin at 4:30pm. 2400m run at 5:00pm and other running events begin at 5:30pm.
The meets will end when all the events are completed. (normally around 8:30pm).

AHHS ATHLETIC TRAINERS OFFICE
Any injuries should be reported to the Coach immediately.
All injuries lasting more than two days should be seen by the AHHS athletic trainers.
All JS students must be accompanied by a parent when going to the trainer. Your Coach needs to notify the trainer ahead of time that you are coming in.

GENERAL INFORMATION Transportation: Buses
will take all athletes to and from track meets.
Students may leave track meets with parents once they check out with the coach and parents are present. Students can not leave with another parent with out written notice from their parent.
Water is the only thing provided at the track meets.
FOOD AT MEETS: There is usually a concession stand available but not guaranteed. Athlete’s need to bring they’re own snacks.
Proper clothing for the change in weather, sun screen, water bottle and shoes other than spikes need to be taken to all meets.
TRYOUTSTryouts are by events. First week of practice kids can try
all the different events. First day of practice is Monday, Feb. 23rd.
No full team cuts will be made. Specific events may have practices limited to meet participants for that week.
Meet entries will depend on: Practice attendance, students availability, times/distance, &
practice performances.
The top 6-10 participants in each event will most likely be entered in a meet sometime during the season.
Field events- may have smaller numbers they are able to enter.Running events have more kids, but more events too.
TEAM WARM UP SHIRTSTrack team shirts should be worn over uniforms
during warm ups and to school the day of the meets.
Purchase in the coaches offices for $10.
We should have them by first track meet.

Boyer. Parent workers for meet might be needed so see
Coach Boyer or Coach Stevens if you would like to work an event or be a timer.
