    During these holiday and seasonally themed

    days, children will play games, make crafts,

    learn about special topics, and possibly take a

    field trip! All of these activities are used to

    promote peer interaction and appropriate

    social skills, physical activity, and

    independence.

    Join us for a kid-focused, fun Halloween

    celebration at Carowinds Amusement Park.

    Special events include a maze,

    trick-or-treating, puppet shows, karaoke, and

    a Peanuts dance party! TR Families can

    enjoy the Halloween festivities together, then

    have fun at the amusement park at your own

    leisure. Costumes are highly encouraged!!

    Come hang out with the guys, fuel your body

    with a good dinner, and fuel your life with

    good conversation. Fuel for Life provides the

    opportunity for young men to talk about and

    gain support for issues theyre facing in their

    lives. Each month we will host guest speakers

    and discuss different topics, such as

    employment and job skills, relationships, life

    goals and values, and other topics that are im-

    portant to you.

    Join the Wilderness Bunch as we sleep under

    the stars, cook our own food, hike, kayak, and

    enjoy the great outdoors. This program isdesigned to teach basic skills needed for tent

    camping and participating in outdoorrecreation. Day trips include hiking, nature

    lessons, and kayaking.

    Welcome to a super-charged ladies night!

    Spill Your Beans provides the opportunity foryoung women to talk about and gain supportfor issues theyre facing, such as health &

    safety, independent living, relationships,

    friendships, and self-esteem (participants willhave the opportunity to choose the topics to

    learn about). Each month we will host a guestspeaker or lead a discussion about issues that

    are important to you.

    caregivers that is facilitated by a Therapeutic

    Recreation staff person but is directed by the

    group members. This FREE informal group

    gives participants the opportunity to meet and

    talk with other parents and caregivers who are

    experiencing the challenges of parenting a

    child, teen, or young adult with a disability.
