HIGH QDR ENGINE RELIABILITY ENHANCEMENT • Quality - Dust prevention plate - Insect protection screen Improved engine reliability by reducing chances of engine overheating. 3. INCREASED WORK FORCE ENGINE PERFORMANCE The power has been increased from 260 to 265 horse power for the Hino 500 1627 models, a flat torque curve leads to improved drivability and less downshifting on slopes. The Power has improved by 3.8% and the torque by 8% TRANSMISSION • 6 speed manual models The transmission has been enhanced for smooth shift acceleration performance and enhanced fuel economy. 6 speed Allison 3000 automatic models Ensures smooth acceleration, easy drive and low maintenance. ALTERNATOR The alternator has been increased from 50A to 60A, allowing more electrical equipment to be added without modifying the alternator. FRONT AXLE The front axle capacity has been increased from 6500 kg to 7384kg. Vehicle stability has also been enhanced by expanding the tread by 130mm for increased capacity, enhanced mobility and increased loadability. TYRES • 12R22.5 – 152/148 Improves load capacity and better road handling. BRAKES Service brakes have changed from wedge type to S-cam, for increased brake lining service life. TANK SIZES The FC models have increased from 200L to 390L fuel tank capacity, for better operation range. WHEEL BASE Available in a variety of wheel bases for wider range applications. 4. EASIER BODY CONVERSION AND CUSTOMISATION BY CUSTOMER CHASSIS The New Hino 500 series has ample space for customisation such as installing outriggers or additional fuel tanks, the grid holes have been evenly spaced on the side rails to reduce the need to add additional holes. 5. ENHANCED SAFETY AND SECURITY DRIVER ASSIST • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) Prevents wheels from locking when emergency braking is fully applied, ensuring responsive steering during braking. SAFETY • Headlight: Multi-reflector The brightness and lateral spread has been increased, adding more night time visibility. • Reverse buzzer Safety alert when reversing. Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Driver Airbags Emergency Locking Retractor Driver Seatbelts Improvement in both passive and active safety. Security • Immobiliser • Central door lock Contributes to security of the truck. 6. ENHANCED COMFORT COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE Cab suspension: Semi-floating structure The structure reduces the impact from various types of road surface to reduce vibrations during driving and helps to reduce driver fatigue. Hill Assist (ES start system) The Easy Start system on the manual transmissions, prevents roll-back by maintaining braking force on hills after the brake pedal has been released • Cruise control Also known as Auto-Cruise, reduces driver fatigue especially on long distance trips / driving, also resulting in better fuel efficiency. • Driver air suspension seat More comfortable ride for the driver, reducing driver fatique and ultimately saving on driver related costs. Suspension Front Suspension: Semi-ellipic leaf spring with single action shock absorbers The front suspension has been extended by 55mm to enhance the ride comfort. Rear Suspension: Semi-elliptic main and auxiliary leaf springs The helper bracket attachments makes it possible to replace only the attachments when the leaf contact surfaces become worn, enabling easier and more economical maintenance.
