God Answers PrayerThe hand of God is always present to guide and bless. Our work in Can

ada brings us to an ever new awareness of His power. Time and sp a c e prohibit our sharing many of these experiences with you, but this one joyful blessing we mus t share .December 20 at the morning service, a man, quite thin, but very muchalive and "his old self, " walked Into Westway church. He went to every personIn the building and shook hands in gree ting . There was not one member of thechurch who failed to grasp the very special s^niflcance of this man's presence.Even as cen tu ries ago, "God so loved t h a t He gave. " Every Christian therethat mornii^ knew that here was ano t h e r life given (preserved) by the sameGod o f l o v e .

Dick Hatcher, who serves on the unofficial advisory committee of Toronto Christian Mission , was baptized by Gene Dulin about five years ago. Hehad been active In the United church, but found in the message of New Testament Christianify, the t r u th t h a t filled his life-long desire to know he wasp leas ing God with his life. His sincerity, h is humor, his leadership, hisfriendliness, his faith, have all become a vital part of Westway church.

Illness struck in August. A deterioration of kidneys, heart, stomachand l i v e r moved to sap the strength and the very l if e of th is man . On Oct. 3he was taken to the hospital in a hopeless condition. No pulse or bloodpressurecould be found for over 36 hours. His family was kept at the hospital for th reedays so they could be at his bedside in a moment. Three nurses wer e by hisside 24 hours-a-day. And in sp i t e of all this care, the doctors and nursesgave the family no hope for his recovery. Any moment would be his last.

But t h e se who deal so well with the physical body, failed to take intoaccount the wonderful fact that "the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous manavaileth much. " GOD ANSWERS PRAYER. The churches of the area prayed,Christ ians in the U.S. prayed, and th is man lives t o prove tha t God still works. Those of th e medical profess ion s tand amazed and a bit confused in the face ofthis great blessing. Christians, and especially those at Westway church, droptheir heads in thanksgiving to Him who doeth all things well.Clip and forward to: TORONTO CHRISTIAN MISSION

HOW WOULD YOU ANSWER? (concluded)for the permanent location has been selected, and now temporary quarters arebeing sought. Within a short time this new congregation will be underway. Andagain, we need a preacher to move to Niagara as soon as possible.

A meeting with some of the leaders of the Canadian Russian work focused our attention on how g rea t the need is for assistance in this work. In "several areas, English-speaking preachers could serve, giving encouragementto the Russian-speaking people as the o lde r members carry on the services, and at the same t ime developing an aggres sive church program in the Englishlanguage. In other si tuations, the need for Russian-speaking men is urgent.Gene Dul in is being asked to visit these congregations i n Canada to encourageand assis t . And urgent requests come f rom Russia and Poland for us to comeagain to s p e a k and especia lly in Poland to b rin g mes sage s On Christ ian doctrine. How would you answer?

And af ter a week with these various challenges demanding answers, before we were out of bed Saturday morning , a Christ ian man telephoned about avery special challenge to him. A denominational church in his area in Torontohas decided to relocate. They a re selling thei r p resen t building, which is nottoo old, and qui te nice. He felt someof the denominationalists would likely remain at the old building, especially if we, with our Bible-centeredundenomina-tional message, were there . We have a few people within reasonable distanceto serve as leaders. "Can't you come and help us get a New Testament churchs tar ted here?" How would you answer?

These brethren need help. We do all we can to assist them in their efforts for Christ , but we are limited by our physical strei^th and our ability tobe in so many areas at once. Indeed, "the harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few." Will you pray with us that we may have cont inued health andstrength and that God wHl send additional workers into the Toronto area, thatwe may be able to meet even a pa r t of the challenges of this one week. Undoubtedly many more such opportunities will present themselves in weeks andmonths ahead. Will you help us help these people? Pray with us! Share withus! Perhaps you can even come and help I

Russian New Tes tamen t Distribution"Our hearts are with you, Bro. Gene Dulin, in your work. Hundreds of

people are thankful to you for the New Testaments in the new edition. I do notknow how a c cu r a t e it (the story) is, but "over there" one man brox^ht h ishorse, a f t e r seeing this New Testament and said, 'Here, take my horse andgive me the New Testament. ' This is how important this work is. Praise theLord fo r i t . " So wr i tes a bro the r in P ola nd .

We continue to forward New Testaments as rapidly as opportunity presents itself. Pray with us for safe del ivery of the precious Word of the Lord .

Other materials are being printed in the Russian language as rapidly ast ime allows . The CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE l ec tu res of Dean Denve r Sizemoreare now being printed. Part of these will be printed on airmail-weight paperfor speedy distribution. Some will be forwarded to Russian-speaking preachersin var ious coun t r i es o f the f ree wor ld .Any who desire to share in the New Testament dis t r ibu t ion and theprinting of additional material in the Russian language are invi ted to forwardofferings to Toronto Christian Mission, designated for the Russian work. Aspecial fund is maintained for th is s ingle purpose.
