INTRODUCTION: Gianfranco Collinassi, Race Coordinator, after a short introduction introduces G. Poncet , Competition Manager who welcomed all the NOCs and to thanked the Organizing Committee for the Freestyle Event of the XX Olympic Winter Games. The Jury has been presented and the FIS Coordinator , Joe Fitzgerald, gave detailed information regarding scheduling for the day to come and showed few Venue maps explaining the location, mainly of sports compound and courses.
TECHNICAL SECTION: Luc Kohly, Technical Delegate, gave measurements of the moguls course. Length 223 meters, width 17 meters at an average of 26.5 degrees . 1st airbump is 51 meters and the 2nd is at 170 meters from the start. Finish area is length 30 meters width 17 to 19 meters and angle is 3 to 0 degrees.

COMMENTS IN ONE OF THE FIS LANGUAGES The TD, Luc Kohly reported important data of yesterday training session (see technical section). Joe Fitzgerald, FIS Race Director, red the schedule for tomorrow and remarked that the deadline to confirm entries is at 14.00. After showcase, athletes have 15 min. to go back to the top. 20 ladies competitors will take part to the final. He explained how the mix zone is composed and informed that the anti doping will follow IOC rules. Top 3 athletes have to stay in the finish area to the end of the flower ceremony then can move to the anti doping, mix zone and press conference. During the flower ceremony, coaches cannot ski down the course. IOC will check teams equipment and might ask to remove or cover some label. Entries for Men Mogul Event have been checked and Team Leaders have been informed that bibs will be distributed on Sunday morning in the Athletes Lounge. A meeting with jump shapers has been arranged for Sunday at 12.00. Mr. Fitzgerald thanked Scott Rowles and Mike Leoni. More arm bands have been given to the team leaders. COMMENTS IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE COUNTRY G. Collinassi, Race Coordinator called to order and welcomed all the teams. J. Fitzgerald, FIS Race Director, thanked the OC, particularly G. Gros, Chief of Race, A. Gamba, Sport Coordinator and L. Leoni, Chief of Course MO. Entries have been checked by Omega and the start list has been prepared. L. Kohly, TD, reported important data of yesterday training session (see technical section). J. Fitzgerald presented the judges and the program for tomorrow, competition day. Moreover, J. Fitzgerald spoke about “Kiss & Cry” zone; victory ceremony (he underlined that athletes cannot carry skis on the podium); anti doping (1 random and top 5); limited zone for coaches and arm band or Business Class accreditation. A map with the flow to the Media Conference Room has been showed. USA and JPN Team Leaders were concerned about the forecasted changes in natural light and therefore in artificial lighting. Fitzgerald, reported that pine needles and color can be used in case of cloudy sky and lack of visibility. Mr Judge, CAN Team Leader, asked to stretch the time for Press Conference before athletes move to the anti doping control. Fitzgerald reminded everybody the brand protection policy. ROLL CALL : AUS – CAN – FIN – FRA – GER – ITA – JPN –KAZ – RUS – SWE - USA TECHNICAL SECTION: Yesterday training session for MO Men Athletes, from 14.00 to 15.30 and from 17.30 to 19.00. Number of athletes training 35 plus 4 forerunners. The TD stated that athletes and coaches have to be at the start on time (25 minutes for coaches and 15 minutes for athletes).

Collinassi, Race Coordinator, entries have been checked and Omega confirmed that 1 skier from Switzerland has been withdrawn therefore, 31 skiers will compete in the Men’s Aerial Qualification. J. Fitzgerald, FIS Race Director, thanked the OC for the great work on the course. G. Benoit, Head Judge, presented the judges assignment for the AE Competition. J. Fitzgerald, thanked all the competitors for wearing correctly the bibs since the first training session. A photo reporting details of the mixed zone and coaches areas has been showed and coaches have been informed on the type of passes or arm bends they need to accede the different areas. Since moderate snow has been forecasted for the Ladies Competition, Team Leaders asked to be informed on the different procedure in case of postponement. TECHNICAL SECTION: Luc Kohly, TD, reported that yesterday training session followed the scheduled program. AE Ladies trained from 16.30 to 18.30; AE Men from 19.00 to 21.00. During AE Ladies Training a competitor, bib number 32 Belikh Anna from Russian Federation, injured herself (knee broken).

Some photos of the access / exit coaches areas have been shown and J. Fitzgerald explained the procedures they have to follow both for training and competition time. He explained also how coaches and competitors should behave at the start area, for the speed checks and at the arrival area. Doping procedures have been explained.
