MFL ACTIVITY IDEASNo Echo A good way of reinforcing new vocabulary is the 'no echo' game. Chorus vocab with the class split into teams, and each team gets a point if they copy you without anyone trailing behind. Try the silliest of voices and the kids love it!Colour cornersPlay these games in the hall. Have a red, blue, yellow and green corner. Call out rojo, azul, Amarillo, verde and the children have to run to the correct corner. Last one there is out.Memory game - Que falta? (what's missing)Place some different coloured objects on a tray (not more than six). Ask one of the children to close their eyes while you take away one of the objects. The child then has to say in Spanish the colour of the object which has been taken away.Bean Bag GameAsk a question, throw bean bag and child has to catch it answer questionFollow meGive out Spanish number cards. Teacher calls out a number in Spanish and does an action. If you have that number, copy the teacher.Guess WhatCould do this game with coloured blocks or Smarties. Tienes verde? No tengo Verde etc. If they get it right, they can eat it.Hide a picture, children have to guess what it is.Roll the diceEach number represents something different. Eg 1 - blue, 2 - green etc. Chn roll dice and get given a counter of the colour they land on. First child to get 6 different coloured counters.Head down, thumbs upAll chn put heads down. 5 chn squeeze thumbs. Each of the 5 chn has a flashcard with a topic related picture and word on. Chn to guess who squeezed thumb by saying word on flashcard instead of child's name.Bingo21use any topic vocabulary eg. Numbers. Stand in a circle, Whoever lands on 10 sits down.
