Society expects organisations and managers to be sociallyresponsible and ethical. Three related concepts:

◦ Social responsibility - organisation’s intention,

beyond its legal and economic obligations, to act inways that are beneficial for society.

◦ Social obligation – 

Driven by economic and legal demands

Involves the minimum that the law requires

Only pursues social goals to the extent that they contributeto its economic goals

◦ Social responsiveness - when a firm takes social actions
