Choose an object with some interior space and produce 3 sketches, 2 sections, 2 elevations, 1 plan , and 1 axonometric drawing.
I chose a toy truck because it had lots of interior space and interest-ing curves to draw. I started with the sketches to understand the ba-sic shape of the toy and then meticulously dimensioned it to make the full set of drawings.

We decided to look at how people occupied their time while they were waiting for the next train. We documented people’s activities during three different times of day and created an animated gif of out findings.

Model, section, and diagram the train station from assignment 3.
We estimated the size of the buildings and created a rhino model of the space. When we were looking at the LRT station in Assignment 3 we noticed that certain activities happened in conjunction with the infrastructure of the station. This was the wayfinding activities at the station. Therefore we decided to look at wayfinding for the key aspect diagram of the project.

I used plywood on this model for the burnt edg-es to draw attention to the shape of the window on the top of the cube.
material: 1/8” Acrylic
I used acrylic for this mod-el to have some experi-ence using the material, also because it does not show burnt edges.
material: Black Cardstock
I used black cardstock for this model because it does not show the burnt edges from the process of laser cutting.
Take three from your series of cube form experiments in the Studio One course and create them as models using the laser cutter. Pick the method of creating them that best enhances the design fea-tures of each cube.
Select which layers will be the most helpful for illustrating form.
Model has interior space so I chose to egg crate it.
Draw section lines from centre to the edge. Extrude a rectangle to trim centre lines.
Intersect the 2 sets of surfaces to get your intersection curves.

Investigate the tectonics of the Toledo Glass Museum and build a model depicting what you have learned.
I spent a lot of time bending plastic with a heat gun and creating jigs, but I initially looked at scratching the plastic to create layers of diffusion.

The tectonics of the Glass Museum is how the glass is suspended between two planes. The bends and layering of the glass cause refractions of light allowing the interior to reflect outside and vice versa.

I contoured this model to fully understand the interior form.
Model has interior space so I chose to egg crate it.
Split pipe at midpoints Half the pipe will cor-respond to the X plane surfaces.
Model was a simple extrude so contouring was an effective method of rep-resentation.

The model has irregular shapes, so I decided to use doweling to help assemble.
Select which layers will be the most helpful for illustrating form.
Half the pipe will correspond to the Y plane surfaces.
Using 3mm thick material contour lines every 6mm.

Labeling was important as model was more than 40 pieces.
