The installation of offshore cables requires a detailed knowledge of

the seabed conditions. Therefore an investigation of the seabed along

the proposed route is regarded as an indispensable prerequisite for

the planning and execution of a cable installation.

The elements of a route survey ideally comprise:

Desk top study

Geophysical and geotechnical survey

Lab testing of seabed samples

Survey report and charts based on an integrated data set

Burial assessment

Specific surveys where required, e.g. UXO, CX/PX, thermal conductivity, environmental etc.
