What is Spring cleaning?

If we want to keep our home in tip-top shape, we should space out certain tasks over the year.

In addition to monthly tasks, we should perform some maintenance quarterly.

Spring has sprung, so check out these great suggestions!

PROJECT CHECK DRAINAGEWATER SHOULD POOL IN THE POOL

If water/puddles hang around the house for more than a day, you have a few options to correct it

Check the gutters for a bad spout

Grade the surrounding area with some dirt

If water pools on pavement, hire a service to come raise it up

CLEAN THE GUTTERSGET RID OF THE AUTUMN GRIME

KEEP A TIGHT EXTERIORSAVE THE HOLE-YNESS FOR A CHURCH

During Winter, the weather can do a number on housing exteriors

Check to see if the paint job suffered any damage

Search for holes in brick

Check for cracks in foundation

A quality silicone sealant is your best friend

MAKE SURE THE A/C OR COOLER IS WORKINGYOU DON’T WANT TO WAIT UNTIL SUMMER TO FIND OUT IT’S NOT!

FIX UP DAMAGED WINDOWS/SCREENSTHOSE BUGS AREN’T HELPING PAY FOR THE RENT OR MORTGAGE!

TRIM THE SHRUBBERYIT CAN DO MORE DAMAGE THAN YOU THINK

The warmth and moisture of Spring encourages plants to grow

If unchecked, they can grow into the cracks on the outside of your home

This can cause serious damage, so give it a quick trim sooner rather than later.

CHECK THE TREESTRESS BUMPING INTO POWER LINES IS NOT A GOOD SITUATION

REPAIR ROOFINGTHIS COULD BE A BIT DIFFICULT IF EXTENSIVE WORK IS NEEDED. CONSIDER HIRING A PROFESSIONAL.
