Our second show of this series is entitled “A Night at Café Du Monde!” With the sounds of Baltimore’s best traditional jazz band, Tongue in Cheek, we will transport you to New Orleans, LA for a night inspired by a famous NOLA hangout…Café Du Monde. Blending the sounds of Storyville and Congo Square, the rich sophistication of the Roaring Twenties in NY and Chicago, and the low-down, dirty depressed era of prohibition, Tongue in Cheek Jazz Band takes you back to an authentic and exciting time where American music was born, raised, and experienced with pure joy! Tongue in Cheek has been described as “Baltimore’s vehicle to the past!” With this blend of Ragtime, Hot Jazz, and Swing, Tongue in Cheek can take you through a complete excursion of American music. Tongue in Cheek plays for any event imaginable, so please don’t hesitate to contact us for your next get-together! The show is FREE OF CHARGE and there will be a free-will offering to benefit the fundraising efforts to continue to have these performances. Your contribution to the musicians performing is also welcome in the form of tips. This event is also BYOB, so bring your favorite bottle of wine, beer, or other spirits to enjoy in our cabaret-style environment. Beignets and fresh coffee will be provided to enhance the café experience! We thank you in advance for your gracious generosity and support of the LIVE ARTS here at ABVM.
