Wayne Gretzky
WHAT DO THESE 3 PEOPLE HAVE IN COMMON?
Tycoon Sir Richard Branson is to give half his fortune away
to charity
He has joined a group of billionaires who have pledged to
donate half their amassed wealth to try to make the world a
better place
Sir Richard and his wife – worth estimated 3 billion – said in
their pledge letter they wanted to use cash from their Virgin
empire to create a “healthy, equitable and peaceful world for
future generations to enjoy”
WHAT DO THESE 3 PEOPLE HAVE IN COMMON?
Our friend and co-trustee Warren Buffett once gave us
some great advice about philanthropy: “Don’t just go for
safe projects,” he said. “Take on the really tough problems.”
We couldn’t agree more. Our foundation is teaming up
with partners around the world to take on some tough
challenges: extreme poverty and poor health in developing
countries, and the failures of America’s education system.- Bill and Melinda Gates

WHAT DO THESE 3 PEOPLE HAVE IN COMMON?
Founded 2002, the Wayne Gretzky Foundation’s mission is to
provide less fortunate youth with the opportunity to experience
the sport of hockey. This goal will be accomplished through the
donation of hockey equipment and ice time, as well as providing
the opportunity for young people to attend professional hockey
games. The Wayne Gretzky Foundation believes that hockey
instills many positive life skills and contributes to the physical,
emotional and social growth of young people.www.gretzky.com
