For Better Crop Residue Management Have Your Turbo Blades Sharpened Now!
It’s an age-old problem in agriculture: ground-engaging tools – disks, coulters and wavy blades thatpenetrate soil and cut crop residues – eventually go dull. Until now, there was no way to realistical-ly sharpen a wavy-bladed implement with dull blades. "It is with great excitement that Case IHannounces the Robo-Sharpener™," says Rob Zemenchik, Sales and Marketing Manager, Case IHTillage Products. “It’s the world’s first manually supervised ‘field-service robot’ for sharpening wavyor regular tillage blades on the Case IH True-Tandem 330 Turbo.”

Sale Time for Tues., August 21st: 9:00 a.m. Fed Cattle, followed by Weigh Cows & Bulls, 12:30 p.m. Feeder Cattle
then Bred Cows/Pairs & Breeding Bulls at 1 p.m.Wow Friday morning when I cranked up the bobcat I had to wait 10 seconds for theglow plug to warm up. Now that was a pleasant change, down in the 50’s. Boy did wehave a great Four County Fair in Dunlap this past week. We wrapped up with the Auctionon Wed. setting record prices for the Champion Str & Champion Lamb. Congratulationsto the Pryor & Cumming’s families for having the Grand & Reserve Champion Strs. Inaddition congrats to the Lapke family on the Champion Breeding Hfr & Gruhn family onthe Champion Market Hfr. We send out sincere appreciation & gratitude to all the hardworkers of the 4 County Fair Board. Darn they do a good job. It seems you have 2 kindsof people. Those who do & get it done & those who don’t do & complain abouteverybody & everything they do. I can tell you the first group is a whole bunch more funto be around. Finally initial yield reports around Dunlap don’t seem to be horrible.Hopefully we can start seeing some moisture and start working on filling up thesecreeks & ponds. Also fall will give us some feed for our cattle, something we sodesperately need.
FED CATTLE/WEIGH COWS TUES., AUG. 7TH: Fed cattle were $2-3 higher andthe weigh cow trade was quite a bit better on our weigh cow special. Contrary to whatyou hear around this weigh cow market is pretty darn good. If you have some big oldercows or real unproductive ones this is a great time to get those cleaned up. Buying backsome young ones right away might look pretty appealing.
BRED COWS & PAIRS, TUESDAY, AUG. 7TH: We had a super cow special onTues. featuring fall calvers and some outstanding spring pairs. We had 2 loads of fancy1st calf hfrs w/300# calves at side that we sold on the video, they brought $2000. Thefall calving cows were very good. We had over 300 head of fall calvers and the front endkind traded $1350-$1500. There remains some great optimism there.
