Resurrected Christ, as You entered the upper room, through locked doors, come now and enter the locked doors of our own lives. Find the hidden places of shame and hurt and brokenness. Praise God in the mighty firmament! Let everything that breathes praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

Spring is the time for outdoor activities like gardening, admiring amazing insects, long
walks, or just enjoying family and friends. This month as we transition into warmer
weather we can share some delightful short stories with our children, grandchildren,
nieces, and nephews.
Included in this month’s tool box are some helpful books for children and adults. Feel free
to couple them with your own unique circumstance, a favorite scripture, or life lesson you
want children to practice when questions, doubts, and sadness arise.
Suggested reading:
Water bugs and Dragon Flies, Explaining Death to Young Children, by Doris Stickney Looking for a meaningful way to explain to neighborhood children the death of a five-year-old friend, Doris Stickney adapted the graceful fable about the water bug that changed into a dragonfly. A Child’s View of Grief, A Guide for Parents, Teachers, and Counselors, by Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D. Wolfelt answers these questions:
What should you say to kids when someone they love dies? Should young children attend funerals? How might a grieving child act?
Why is the grief teenagers experience especially complicated?
How can caring adults best help children and adolescents with their grief?
Scripture “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV
Prayer Dear Lord, teach me to be attentive to the needs of my family. I want to tell them the ways you have shown your love for me. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
These books can be found through Amazon.com or ordered through your favorite bookstore
