Toastmeeter application overview

What is TOASTMEETER?  It  is  an  applica+on  that  help  you  to  meet  your  fellow  Toasmasters  in  Kuala  Lumpur.    The  Toastmasters  Interna+onal  83rd  Annual  Interna+onal  Conven+on  is  hold  in  Kuala  Lumpur,  Malaysia,  20-­‐23  August  2014.      Many  of  the  conven+on  par+cipants  arrive  1-­‐2  weeks  earlier.  If  you  arrive  earlier  too,  you  can  already  connect  to  other  Toasmasters,  and  organize  common  programs.      Toastmeeter  helps  you  in  this!    Check  h"p://www.toastmeeter.com  on  your  mobile,  and  login  with  your  LinkedIn  account.

This is your profile. As you sign in, you have to set whether you are a guest in Kuala Lumpur, or you are one of the local people (host). As host, you can help the guests with suggesting programs or events. If you are a host, the guests will rely on you on several questions. As a guest you are free to create events to, and can meet any of your fellow Toastmasters. You can change your settings later. You can reach your profile page from the menu (top-left corner of the screen)  

This is your Calendar. As you sign in, you have to set your availability. Please check the dates and times when you are free and ready for a common event with your fellow Toastmasters, by clicking on the check boxes. You can reach the Calendar any time from the menu. In the calendar you can also see who is available at what time, or what kind of events are organized already by other Toastmasters. Please note, that this application is exclusive only for the Toastmasters convention members! If there are free places, you can join to the events.  

The application usually starts with your Dashboard, that summarizes your events and communications. You can reach the menu from the top-left corner. The menu appears in every page.

From  the  menu,  you  can  reach  your  availability  Calendar,  the  organized  events,  your  conversa+on,  or  you  can  check  who  is  already  registered  in  the  applica+on.    You  can  also  reach  your  profile,  where  you  can  change  your  status  (guest/host).

How to meet someone? 1.  Check your calendar to see at what time is

someone available 2.  Click on the selected timeframe, and click

on the “See who is Available” button.

guests. 4.  You can initiate a conversation with the

available Toastmasters by clicking on the conversation icon

How to meet someone? (cont.) 5. During Conversations you can discuss what kind of event do you plan. As you agree, just click on the “Create Event” button, and let others to know what you organized, and let other to join you!

•  Add a name •  Set the start and end times (it will

automatically appear in the calendar) •  Set the location •  Set the maximum number of

participants (please mind, if you go to a club, there could be limits)

On the Events page you can see the upcoming events. The little icon beside the events indicates the number of participants. If you click on the event’s name, you can see the details, and you can join. You can also organize your own event and offer it to other Toastmasters. If you click on the “Upcoming Events” button, you can filter the events:

•  Upcoming events •  Events I created •  Events I joined •  My past Events

On the People page you can see the registered Toastmasters, with the name and short LinkedIn description. You  can  check  their  Linkedin  profiles  by  clicking  on  their  name  or  photo.    You  can  also  start  a  conversa+on  with  them  by  clicking  on  the  conversa+on  icon.  

During Conversations you can discuss what kind of event do you plan. As you agree, just click on the “Create Event” button, and let others to know what you organized, and let other to join you!  Your  previous  conversa+ons  are  also  available    on  the  Conversa4ons  page,  from  the  menu.
