I’m kind of one of those people who loves their comfort zone. While trying new recipes and

restaurants is my jam (and let’s not even mention ever-revolving beauty product addiction), I also

relish familiarity. I tend to listen to the same songs (like for a whole decade), revert to rewatching my

favorite shows (ahem, the o ce and bu y), and apparently blend the same smoothies–this one and

this one have been in the rotation for more months than I’m willing to admit. I even have favorite

mugs and cups to drink from, #boring.

Obviously, I need to shake things up every once in a while or I nd myself in a deep rut. This

smoothie has pulled me out of my current smoothie rut (though I’m not even sick of my usual

concoctions). It’s a smoothie version of the classic creamsicle. I added plenty of toasted coconut

because in my head it just makes sense to add to the creamy vanilla notes and juicy orange avors

already at play. There’s also some frozen banana and mango for creamy sweetness. I used canned

coconut milk in this recipe, instead of my usual almond milk, and a little ke r for added tartness.

There’s a spoonful of hemp hearts for health and science. You could add some greens or spirulina (I

do about half the time) to boost the health factor even more. A splash of vanilla extract brings

everything into creamsicle territory. It’s de nitely part of the rotation, now…probably for the next

decade or so.

I also love the comfort zone (although my jam is The O.C. and Seinfeld). I pride

myself on trying new things but always end up wanting to go to the same ve restaurants

– ha! Can’t go wrong with coconut, obviously! This looks delicious!
