Re: Weekly Update – Lincoln High School Project
The purpose of this report is to provide, on a weekly basis, a) a look back to work that was completed during
the previous week, b) report on major project issues and what is being done to correct same, c) a look ahead
to activities that are planned for next week.
Work Activities, Week of 10/01/18:
Please reference the attached Daily Reports for further day-by-day details.
Average daily on-site manpower was roughly 14 workers, primarily working on abatement of the roof
and cmu walls, demolition, debris sorting for recycling and disposal, construction of temporary partitions
where the 1970’s wing met other parts of the building.
As of Friday, October 5th, most of the 1970 connector wing’s roof and exterior walls had been
demolished except for the four classrooms at the bottom of the ramp, several offices where the
connector tied into the former middle school, and the rooms adjacent to the west wall of the
Auditorium. (see photos below).
Back-ordered wall-mounted unit heaters for the temp water service room and entrance vestibule were
received earlier this week and will be installed.

RH Debris Pile is at Former School Store Location.
Work Activities, Week of October 10/08/18:
It is anticipated that most of the mechanical demolition of the roof and walls will be completed by the
end of this week, leaving manual demolition of the walls that tie into the 1996 and former middle school
wings. Next week, demolition work will shift to removal of the concrete slab and foundation walls,
starting near the 1996 wing and working outward towards the parking lot and former front of the
building. Target date for completion of all demolition and removal work is Friday, November 2nd.
Gilbane will be receiving initial bid proposals from subcontractors for the next three bid proposals on
Friday, October 12th. It will then take about 2 weeks to perform detailed scope reviews and obtain best
and final pricing from the lowest three subs for each bid package. Proposals due on Friday include:
o Foundations & concrete. ( 9 bidders)
o Structural steel. (14 bidders)
o Sitework (for balance of project) (10 bidders)
Major Project Issues:
Existing Site Drainage Line, East of Field / Running Track
Lincoln DPW will have the Town’s sewer maintenance vendor, Veolia, inspect the drainage line with a remote
camera system to further determine the exact location and extent of blockage. The camera should be
available after being taken out of service for repairs last week. Once the blockage is cleared, the eroded area
around the manhole will be loamed & seeded. Other grassed areas alongside the connector road have now
fully germinated.
