Homework is an important part of school

2nd grade homework should not take longer than 45 minutes.

Students will have a reading and writing homework menu. Please have student complete one square for each subject each week in their reading/writing homework journal. The squares with a star are mandatory and should be done the week specified.

Math Homework: Each week, students will receive a page handed out every week from their teacher and brought home in their PIRATE binder and an assigned page from their Problem Solving Booklet.

Students are expected to turn in all homework every Friday. A mark will be given on the student’s expectation card if it is not turned in and 6 marks in a nine weeks grading period will result in an “N” on the student’s report card.

Students will write important information in planner on Mondays for the week. Please check your child’s planner on Monday evenings.
