4 Best PortThis award goes to the port that the industry feels is the easiest to work with and demonstrates a commitment to efficiency and safety.

5 Most Innovative TechnologyThe winner of this award will go to an equipment provider that has revolutionised the tank terminal industry.

6 Most Invaluable ProductThe winner of this award will be the technology that no terminal can be without.

TANK STORAGE AWARDS JUDGES The Tank Storage Awards judges are a cross section of experts taken from across the terminalindustry around the globe. They receive no personal or financial benefit for their participation.

Marc De WitteExecutive Director, FETSAMarc De Witte joined FETSA in 2013. He has around 35 years’ experience in various maritime and transport positions.

Margit BlokGlobal HSE Director, VTTIMargit Blok joined VTTI as Corporate HSE Director when the company had only just started in 2006. She started in the terminal industry in 1998, working as the Director of Engineering, Safety & Environment for IMTT in Canada. In between she spent two years working as HSE manager for Vopak Oil EMEA and Vopak Oil Rotterdam.

Roderick de RooijCommercial Manager, Oiltanking Odfjell Terminals OmanRoderick de Rooij has worked with Oiltanking since 2005 and moved to Oman three years ago. He is commercially responsible for 1.3 million m3 of storage capacity.

Earl CrochetBusiness Development Director, Kinder MorganEarl Crochet has been with Kinder Morgan since 2008, spending four years working as an Environmental Health & Safety Manager.

Walter E WattenberghGroup CEO, LBC Tank Terminals GroupWalter Wattenbergh has been Group CEO of LBC Tank Terminals Group since April 2015. In 1986, Wattenbergh built his own company together with a partner to operate barges in Europe and act as shipping agent for the growing barging industry. In 1994, he sold the company to Stolt-Nielsen which he joined to build out Stolt-Nielsen’s Inland shipping business. Later he assumed the additional responsibility of Stolt-Nielsen’s Inter European fleet. He was then promoted to Managing Director for all of Stolt-Nielsen’s activities in Europe. In 2004 he took over the terminal division which under his leadership expanded from 5 to 20 terminals.


Martyn LyonsCEO, InterTerminalsMartyn Lyons became Chief Executive of Inter Terminals Limited in January 2015, and he is a Board director of Inter Pipeline Europe Limited. Martyn was appointed Managing Director in May 2006 having worked for the Company in various operational roles since 1988.Martyn is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, an Associate of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management, and is an Incorporated Engineer.

Ulf VleeshouwersSenior Adviser, InterTankUlf Vleeshouwers began his career as Sales Manager at Paktank in 1970. He has now worked in the independent storage sector for over 46 years, most notably as Managing Director for Nordic Storage.

Mike BevissDirector of Special Projects, Eastport GlobalMike Beviss has nearly 40 years experience in the shipping & storage industry. He worked with Odfjell for 13 years and now provides feasibility studies and advisory services as well as commercial training and tools to improve efficiency and productivity in storage terminals.

Niels von HombrachtManaging Director, Flowcom ConsultancyNiels von Hombracht started his career at Shell Chemical in 1977 and then moved to Pakhoed (predecessor to Vopak), were he held senior management positions in refining, tank storage, shipping and supply-chain management.

Ruud van StralenManaging Director, TankPort Ruud van Stralen began his career as a Commercial Trainee for Tradax BV in January 1980. In 1998 he became the Commercial Manager of Oil and Chemicals for the Port of Amsterdam. Ruud van Stralen now owns TankPort B.V., a small advisory company that provides services to clients regarding all matters related to tank leasing, contracting, and operations.

John CornellTraining Provider, APIJohn Cornell is a Senior Tank Specialist for H.I.R. Technical Services, which serves as an industry consultant and has worked on projects from Guatemala City to The Hague. He is the official contracted training provider for API worldwide and has been offering tank training courses on standards such as API-620, API-650 and API-653 for many years.
